Dont be fooled!

Ok so this I feel, is Lubin's first attempt at a more mainstream scent, but dont let that put you off. It starts out nice and sweetly but not overly so, i get the elimi resin and artemisia and I find this perfumeenjoyable from first spray to dry down, the drydown is my favourite part though. The dark chocolate note kicks in and stays until the scent itself goes, which is hours later, the longevity on this is quite outstanding. It's not as challenging as some Lubin scents but my goodness it leaves you wanting more and is certainly FB worthy for me.

For the total smokeshow

Do you want to smell like an absolute smokeshow? This is your fragrance! I don't know how this perfume hasn't taken off as a best seller yet. It is so underrated and undiscovered.

Upper Ten For Her is a sultry, mysterious, spicy aroma that stands out from most other fragrances I have experienced so far. It has moderate projection and seems to last most of the day. It is complex, but also fairly linear in that the opening and dry-down smell pretty much the same.

I would not describe this as "gourmand," but you can smell the raspberry and chocolate notes if you look for them. It's truly more of a spicy, smoky smell (think of a very nice burning incense). Very feminine, very sexy. Since it has not been widely discovered, you can wear this and feel very unique and memorable. Perfect first date fragrance. Wear this for an air of sophistication, mystery, and sensuality.

It starts with a big blast of raspberry that sort of has a boozy undertone. It's gourmand, and when I smell it, my mouth waters because of the fruity vibe. It has a more youthful scent profile with the combo of roses with this fruity vibe. It has a slightly spicy vibe too. As it goes from mid to the base, you would get less raspberry from and, It would start getting resiny and a bit woody. The sweetness is more managed when it gets to this part. It has a chocolate note in the composition too, but I didn't get any. It is probably one of the factors that make it gourmand-ish. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience wearing this scent on my skin. The longevity is adequate, not weak, and not so beastly long-lasting. The sillage and projection look good too. It's a good choice for daily use in colder seasons for more casual occasions.
Final verdict:
If you are looking for a fruity gourmand-ish kind of scent with decent longevity and a vibe different from the usual gourmands in the market, You should give this a shot and test it. You may be amazed by the scent as I was.

High-class fragrance

I agree with all reviews so far. Really noble, elegant and refined blend, nothing "over the edge" in this composition. Not really a sweet scent, but (covertly) spicy and dark. It's a scent too aristocratic to be "just" spicy, sweet or gourmand, notes so nicely intertwined it's hard to perceive them as parts. Bitter type of chocolate, high-class type of perfume, unaggressive in trying to prove it's pedigree. :-D

Under Laboratory Conditions

On a very hot day, I drove into a very loud big city, full of people. I had an appointment, was nervous, and was in a hurry. I was sweating. After the appointment, I hurried back through the shimmering heat into a perfume store. In front of the door (due to COVID19), I tested Upper Ten for Her. The scent was bright, raspberry sweet. I forgot the fragrance, and the sample got lost in the extradimensional depths of my hip bag. Once home, my wrist smelled of one of the most beautiful incense compositions I have ever smelled. At home, it was significantly cooler, and I was no longer nervous. What had happened? A second test was necessary.

Yesterday, I found the sample in my hip bag. Today, I tested it again, this time at a pleasant 19°C outside. Occasionally light rain. Promptly, Upper Ten for Her is not sweet at all. "Not sweet at all" might be an exaggeration; in the base, amber gently adds a moderate vanilla sweetness to the fragrance. However, beforehand, the scent is indeed raspberry-like, but rather slightly sour, and exactly that piercing sourness which I do not particularly like. This sometimes occurs in rhubarb or raspberry fragrances. Unfortunately, I also notice the pepper in cooler weather and do not find it very appealing.

Conclusion: One does not necessarily have to swim through a sweet raspberry liqueur lake. When it’s cooler, a Speescher helicopter also flies into the divine land of incense. However, the helicopter takes a bit longer.

How a perfume smells really depends on the day’s condition, the weather, and other circumstances. Thus, it is justified that we have more than one fragrance and that our preferences change. I would, however, maintain the overall rating of Upper Ten for Her at 7.5. The scent is well made, but I would not buy it, as I do not want to be constantly running and sweating. I wouldn’t be surprised if it held better today, as it is cooler. The projection starts at 7 (you constantly waft it onto yourself and others outside), but depending on the weather, it quickly returns to a moderate 6 (an arm's length indoors).

The scent is supposed to remind one of young, modern ladies of the 1920s. I have nothing to do with being young anymore. I find the 1920s an interesting time.

Upper Ten for Her is suitable for 20s parties, for staying in jazz clubs, and for attending Broadway revues. As a sport, I can recommend Lindy Hop (for example, at the Herräng Dance Camp in Sweden). Even though I consider it a rather strange dance. Lubin themselves suggest Upper Ten for Her as a fragrance for mayors of larger (imaginary) cities. Industrial magnates, federal presidents, and higher nobility can certainly also wear Upper Ten for Her at work when they are cruising through the city in their Duesenberg or when they are on the helicopter.
