This is my Marlou First Impressions Review Video. A Marlou L’Animal Sauvage + 50ML D’Ambiguite First Impressions Review video. Marlou L’Animal Sauvage and 50ML D’Ambiguite are both very different animalic fragrances. Marlou Perfumes is a fairly new brand from France. They have two fragrances in their collection and recently launched at Lucky Scent. L’Animal Sauvage which was launched in 2016 focuses on musks with civet and 50ML D’Ambiguite which was launched in 2017 focuses on Costus with Castoreum. Warm skin accord

Leaning towards skin and fur, rather than the urinous or fecal type of animalics. Warm, humid, sweaty, hairy skin with tiny nuances of spice and smoke. Somewhere between warm bedsheets and the indoor habitats in the zoo. It feels incredibly familiar and triggers a primal instinct (either a good or a bad one)

Applied modestly it has a cuddly warmth. Slightly indecent yet wearable. With the amount applied the skank level increases rapidly. Absolute perversity is reached before you know it.

Not for the faint of heart, obviously! But for fetishists of the animalic genre, this is about as good as it gets. Personally, I am very fond of animalic notes that give a perfume composition a bit of funk. As a stand-alone accord, not so much.

Two lovers on a hot summer day.

A forbidden encounter after a day spent by the sea.

Cumin, sweaty skin, burning roots and salt form an animal smell, dirty, but at the same time attractive and narcotic.

Handle with care can provoke intense emotions.

Barn Couture

The dirtiest of the line. It's very dry and unsweetened, smoky but still warm. Unfortunately it leans a bit too much on the fecal side of the animalic scents and makes me think of a goat barn (my grandfather had one so i know how it smells). Not on my wish list but it's still a very nice experience.

Rather underwhelming

I've got the Marlou sample set and Ambilux is the first I've tried. Opens with a strong urine smell. Not cat piss; this is a straight human urine smell. Most guys probably know what I'm talking about if you've ever been in a men's restroom that doesn't have a puck in the urinal. The urine smell gradually diminishes, allowing the other notes and accords to appear. I got a very slight sweaty-cumin scent, very diminished and not even close to the similar scent in Overture Man. There is also a very subtle floral accord. The sweet spot in the dry down is roughly a little over an hour, where the urine scent is sufficiently diminished and the overall scent is noticeable in a very tight scent bubble. The scent continues to weaken until you suddenly realize that you can't really smell anything. That's around 5 to 5 and a half hours. Skin to nose, I had to wonder if that was Ambilux or only me I'm smelling.

Longevity is disappointing. The sweet spot only lasts a few hours. The first hour is too urine-y without much else there. From the first hour to the 4th hour it has a pretty good funky man skin scent. So about 3 hours of something and then it fizzles out. Projection is quite moderate during that interval as well. Really don't know what all the fuss is about.
