a feminine mint at last!
This is so, so beautiful.... for the half hour it lasts. Such a pretty mint, tea, citrus - with slight smokiness (from the coffee beans?) and a satiny jasmine petal. Then it's gone. I did end up buying a lightly used bottle of this as I couldn't justify the price for its performance and I don't regret it, it's crisp and refreshing yet still feminine.

Mint Makes Spontaneous

Actually, I had a list in my pocket. A list of perfumes I wanted to test. To protect myself exactly from that: spontaneous tests and spontaneous purchases. But most of the time, things turn out differently than you think. While I was standing there indecisively with my list in one hand and my phone in the other (a permanent link to the Parfumo community is an absolute must for me on these outings), a lady entered the store to pick up an ordered fragrance. The saleswoman sprayed the perfume on her hand again so she could let her male companion sniff it - and in the thousandth of a second, in which a single minty-cool scent molecule hit my nose, I knew: Uiiiiii, this visit is going to be more expensive than planned.
And there’s not much to Menty y Menta, and not much in it. ONLY wonderful fresh mint and a little bit around it. I hereby openly admit that I am a mint fetishist: chocolate mint, ginger mint, pineapple mint, Moroccan mint, peppermint, strawberry mint, apple mint, they have all found a spot on my balcony over the years and have been enjoyed in mojitos, hugos, water, teas, pasta dishes, puff pastries, and much more. And every visit to my balcony also includes rubbing the leaves to release their scent. So you see: A serious case of mint addiction.
However, it’s not the same with perfumes. Mint often reminds me of toothpaste here (when it’s really noticeable) or flower water (when it’s used more subtly). But Menta y Menta actually just smells fresh like mint - with the very slight sharpness that most mint varieties also have in nature. Maybe a hint of lemon can be sensed, like an ice-cold water with fresh mint leaves and a few lemon slices. I still can’t detect coffee after numerous attempts; I can only vaguely sense a delicate floral note.
The longevity is about the same as that of a lemon-mint water from my kitchen, so basically non-existent. Menta y Menta is a fragrance water that is best carried in your handbag on hot days and sprayed generously whenever you need a little refreshment. An overdose is completely impossible!
And yet: A wonderful companion through the hot summer days. And since a nice soap maker told me at the craft market that mint enhances concentration, the remnants of the scent will now, as the hot summer days are a thing of the past, be transported to the office. Let’s see if he’s right! And even if not, Menta y Menta simply brings back the carefree hot days of summer vacation to my memory. That’s good too - or maybe even better…

Broadband Layered Fragrance on a Delicate Base
Miller et Bertaux do a great job. Therefore - as well as from the love for green, for citrus, and the olfactory intention to integrate the greatly underestimated mint into everyday fragrance - Menta y Menta now rests on this skin. It is the 3rd fragrance from this house in this household. And for this skin, it is an extremely entertaining experience.
First of all, a strong alcohol scent, like kissing after brushing your teeth with a strong breath. Then the 'wonderful' smell of cheap, masculinely marketed shower gels. Of course, a lighter, more complex, avant-garde enhanced version. A surrogate staged for the discerning nose: freshly crushed mint, zest, and freshly unwrapped Wrigley's Doublemint. Equally short-lived. In the top note, there is a generous closeness to CdG Play Green.
The rest is a natural reminiscence of fragrances from the 1990s, which celebrated the near future and the synthetic in a science-fiction soaked manner. In 2019, with Menta y Menta, it is now about nature. Here, a delicate floral note resonates. Lemon quickly absent. Sillage as well. On this skin, after an astonishingly short development time, only a vague trace of delicate jasmine blossom remains, freshly showered in the aforementioned shower gel, perhaps with a hint of coffee in the background. Far away, somewhere in the distance: a shadowy echo of naturalized CK Be. Unfortunately too late for the 90s revival. That was over 5 years ago. And gone again. Menta y Menta is a fresh, herb-floral unisex fragrance building block, dependent on the imagination of the wearer. Miller et Bertaux fragrances are meant for layering, and this one is imperative for that.
On virgin, freshly showered, uncreamed skin, Menta y Menta also disappears immediately.
(I will continue to observe this)

So refreshing...
and moreover more complex than I initially thought. Miller et Bertaux don't seem to place much value on a fragrance development, which I don't find negative in principle. And yet, I perceive a development in this scent that I find extremely exciting and refined.
But from the beginning:
I only acquired this perfume in the autumn of this year, which is actually silly - since it is so refreshing and intended for summer. Now, in these Corona times, most sports activities have to be done within one's own four walls, which is sometimes not easy for me. Since I have had Menta y Menta, I spray it on myself as a motivational booster - and because I like the scent so much, it often helps me with physical exercise afterwards. The scent is basically my pre-reward.
The reviews here are very critical regarding longevity and sillage, which I can't entirely confirm for myself (maybe I just spray more...). However, I wouldn't want to wear a room-filling perfume in a gym or during the day in summer. And as one previous reviewer hinted, you can simply reapply.
As for the scent: yes, one could associate it with chewing gum or toothpaste, but I rather picture my vacation in Morocco, where tea with fresh mint was offered everywhere and all the time. Perhaps I don't think of toothpaste because I don't perceive any sharpness, not even at the beginning. I might be a bit desensitized since I love sharpness and never shy away from it. I don't perceive lemon at all. I can catch a brief whiff of coffee, but the bitterness doesn't linger for long. For me, Menta y Menta smells like an aromatic infusion that becomes creamier over time. The scent remains minimalist and uncomplicated, but as the mint notes fade, a scent emerges after hours that I can't quite describe. If I didn't know better, I would even say a hint of musk works its way through the soft transparent mint notes. You really have to get close to the wrist after hours to still perceive the notes, but it's fun to keep sniffing it. So far, the scent hasn't become "too much" for me, which I often experience with many fragrances.
For me, Menta y Menta is an energetic, successful composition, and I am already looking forward to next summer to delight my surroundings with a spritz or two.

Mint, not just for summer
From the name, I initially suspected it was a pure mint fragrance. After receiving a sample of Menta y Menta from a lovely perfumer, I quickly realized that there are other scent notes that support the mint's longevity and make the perfume smell very natural. I have since become an enthusiastic supporter of mint in fragrances, which this scent is not entirely innocent of.
The beginning is briefly alcoholic upon spraying, and very quickly the mint appears. It smells very natural, much like freshly brewed tea. But not from a bag, rather fresh from the garden. I perceive a bit of lemon throughout the entire progression. After an hour, jasmine joins in, which significantly extends the longevity of the otherwise fleeting mint. Unfortunately, I don't get a coffee note. That would have certainly been interesting. As mentioned in the previous reviews, I also find Menta y Menta very invigorating and refreshing. It lasts quite a while for me too. In fact, about 5-6 hours. The mint lasts for about 3-4 hours, and then the scent really changes. I believe it is the jasmine that comes through in a very nice and unobtrusive way. There is also a light sweetness present. The fragrance is wearable all year round. Whenever you want to feel refreshed.
In the summer, I use it particularly often. When it’s really hot, I like to layer the scent with Herba Fresca from Aqua Allegoria. Then the mint becomes even more intense, and the effect of the rather short-lived but powerful AA is significantly extended. This is also very well received by those around me.

Garden mint leaves and sencha green tea leaves. Green, very natural and slightly bitter. Excellent fragrance with ludicrous performance.

Simple, but I like it! The name says it all, but for a change, the mint isn't annoying this time. It's rounded off with jasmine tea..

A charmer! Authentic, delicious mint on a soft, amber base. Not sweet, fresh, modern, slightly bitter-tea-like.

A visit to the Moroccan place. The menu includes freshly brewed mint tea with lemon and a pinch of sugar. That's exactly this scent.

Starts with strong mint, but the dry-down is soft, creamy, and slightly floral. Absolutely unisex and totally wearable. Perfect summer scent.
