Spring on the 12
I've been looking for a fragrance that contains rhubarb for a while now. Delina isn't for me and somehow I've always thought of it as a unicorn among fragrances. However, it seems that this will change in 2025, as I have already discovered two new releases that deal with exactly this topic. I actually wanted to try the Prada Infusion, but it just so happened that I came across the Molton Brown (a brand that I always find more exciting anyway) and fell in love with it.
Delicious Rose and Rhubarb is actually exactly what the name says. Rose is there immediately and so is rhubarb, there's not much of a scent progression. What makes the fragrance so infinitely beautiful is its effervescence. And its ambivalence between youthfulness and adulthood.
It is definitely youthful, but not like a teenager, but rather as if you had fallen into the fountain of youth at the age of 30 and would look like that forever. The rose is present enough to make the fragrance mature, but it never steals the show from the rhubarb. It lets it shine and stays in the background, always ready to catch this effervescence. Both notes are not squeaky here, but are easily recognizable in their characteristics and simply pleasant to smell.
This is spring on the 12, this is a full can of joie de vivre. This is the moment when you jump up and shout "Eureka winter is over".
The fragrance is never heavy, as you might expect from a musk-vanilla base. It remains light as a feather and is therefore a clear summer candidate for me.
It is as fresh as a clear mountain lake, it is like the feeling of a cold shower after sport, it is like the first coffee on a Monday morning. But always accompanied by a hint of fruitiness. Not a sweet fruitiness like lychee and raspberry might suggest, but really quite rhubarb-like, a little tart and tingling.
Longevity is rather mediocre, even on my God-blessed perfume skin. That's not a bad thing because I think the price for the fragrance is totally fine and so you can confidently spray a little more or more often.
Delicious Rhubarb and Rose has brought me out of hibernation and I am very grateful for that.
