The first summer fragrance I bought in winter!
It all started with a sample that I received after buying this fragrance in the local perfumery. To be honest, I wasn't expecting much, as I'm not really a big fan of fresh fragrances - and even in winter. Nevertheless, I sprayed this sample onto a test strip at some point. I went away, came back. Sprayed it again. Went away again, came back. It went on like that for a few days, and I've never had that before, to be honest. I kept thinking: "Wow, that's really nice."
Sunlit Clementine & Vetiver starts with a beautiful and extremely fresh/juicy clementine (lime is also subtly present in the background). This opening lasts an unusually long time, definitely two hours (with a decreasing effervescence). Then comes the second part of the fragrance: vetiver. I think it's really great that Molton Brown has already described what you get with the name here - nobody can complain about this progression, because it comes exactly in the order noted in the name. This slightly sweet citrus is offset incredibly nicely by the green vetiver and moss, which makes it not a youthful scent. The almost woody-green base that is always present in the background prevents it from becoming a citrus fragrance of the masses. Sunlit Clementine & Vetiver is a more established fragrance that has a timeless character.
I like its grown-up appeal, freshness and progression. It's what I really appreciate alongside the more youthful summer fragrances, with adequate sillage for the first three hours (moderate after that), strong longevity on me of at least eight hours and always that mouth watering character when you spray it on. For me, it was one of the biggest purchase surprises in 2024!
