Ustad EdP - a Journey Through the 7 Emirates
For me, fragrances from the house of Nabeel are a guarantee of quality. By now, I have tried Glorreiche, Heilige 7, and not a single one has been disappointing. Each one is different, each one equally enchanting.

No matter which Nabeel I spray, the immediate Aaaahhhh effect kicks in. And instantly, unforgettable images arise from one of the most fascinating regions of this earth for me. I have traveled through all the Emirates, cities with breathtaking backdrops, but also romantic, original corners with narrow alleys and small white cube-shaped houses, souks filled with countless bags of the most exquisite spices and petals in all colors, and large chunks of clear frankincense resin, small shops stuffed with fragrant oils that shine in all colors like gemstones, smoldering Oudh woods that nearly steal my senses.
Bizarre rocky landscapes, silent, magical endless deserts, lush green oases with exotic trees and flowers, camel markets, fruit markets, and time and again giga modern cities with luxury in abundance and deliciously fragrant people in long robes, veiled women with black eyes.
And in every hotel, the climate-controlled relaxation, in the modern lobby, an original tent is set up, where one sinks into thick cushions on noble woods, and strong coffee brewed with rose water is served, along with fresh dates, and in the corner, delicious incense smolders.

All of this is embodied by Nabeel in its fragrances. It would border on blasphemy to want to pick details from a mundane theoretical pyramid; the practice is 1001 times better.

Ustad begins with a shaving lotion-like robust bitterness, with coumarin, moss, musk, woods, and whatever else is clearly at the forefront. And after a while, the aforementioned journey begins! New impressions constantly unfold, a symbiosis of ingredients with the person wearing it.

Ustad is not a typical oriental fragrance, not a typical floral scent, not a sweet flatterer, but a serious, potent, enduring lover who appears more noble in his long white robe than many a peacock of the West in a designer suit.

After hours, a strong shaving soap note emerges - all of this, along with the simple bottle, strongly suggests that this is a men's fragrance.

Like the land - so its scent! That’s why I enjoy wearing it and the other Nabeel fragrances when the sun blazes down and the temperature reaches 30 degrees; then it is the right season for the journey. Cold and rain cannot handle these magical beings. And whether this hit will be a success on a German man here in cold Germany, I dare to doubt.

Maybe I’ll test it in the sauna and then we’ll see.

Ala Baali - an Oriental Fairy Tale?
By chance, I came across a package containing 9 Arabic fragrances. Among them was Ala Baali. They are all perfume oils, so no EdPs or EdTs, which means they should be applied sparingly.

Ala Baali is one of the most beautiful of these attars for me. In the opening, it is quite herbaceous and fresh citrusy, revealing a heart of flowers.

The flowers are primarily dominated by rose, even though in this case it is the geranium rose according to the pyramid. The dosage is so precisely balanced with the other blossoms that a delicate, light pink rose emerges, giving way to a beautifully warm, soft scent.

This scent impression lasts a good 18 hours; it does become weaker, but is still noticeably present.

It is truly a sensual experience to enjoy such a fragrance. Even when applying it with the short glass stick attached to the cap, with which you spread the oil on your skin. The scent immediately fills the space, and the more it warms on the skin, the more pronounced it becomes.

The flowers blend into the base and are softly embraced by the moss.

The scent sensation is dry but not powdery, incredibly sensual. I never would have believed that I would enjoy fragrances of this kind so much. I am also surprised by their variety. They are by no means heavy, smoky, and overly sweet scents. They show very modern facets - just like Ala Baali, and I look forward to testing each one.

At first, a lovely bright fougère in the style of Drakkar Noir or Jazz, but then everything is bathed in clean musk.

Very soapy, slightly spicy, and unfortunately not
for me.

Ustad is another fantastic relative of Drakkar Noir alongside Dakar. Here it's beautifully mossy, undiluted, with a pronounced H/S.

80s style barbershop vibe with extra shaving cream on top! I love it! Very similar to Drakkar Noir and better than the current original!
