From Synthetic Shock to Floral Surprise
I had my eye on Oody Woody Eau de Parfum for a long time, but my interest never quite reached the point of getting a sample.
That changed when the lovely Jandem80 kindly sent me a sample, thanks again for that.
The fragrance notes promised a great opening with strawberry and plum, but unfortunately, I don't perceive any of that.
Instead, I am met with a very synthetic, sweet musk note that strongly reminds me of cheap Arabic dupes from the past.
I can vaguely sense some fruitiness, but it doesn’t smell like strawberry or plum to me.
It leaves an indefinable, artificial impression.
Fortunately, the fragrance becomes more pleasant in the drydown.
The intrusive synthetics of the opening recede and make way for a distinctly floral development.
I can smell jasmine and rose, which continue to be accompanied by a prominent, sweet musk.
For me, the fragrance clearly tips into the feminine here (W75%/25%M) and is no longer entirely unisex.
Surprisingly, the longer you wear it, the more pleasing and floral the scent becomes.
This might appeal to fans of floral fragrances, but personally, I still miss the fruity notes.
In the end, perhaps a subtle woodiness mixes in, but the floral notes remain dominant.
The positive aspect is that the synthetics gradually diminish from the drydown and reach a bearable level towards the end.
The performance is a bit disappointing: On my skin, it lasts only about 6 hours with moderate projection.
My conclusion: Due to the strong, long-lasting synthetics, this is not a fragrance I would personally wear or recommend.
I am glad to have only tested it and to be able to refrain from purchasing.
