Muscle Smurf
Two comments totaling about thirty lines. Is that enough for an adequate description of the scent? Well, it is straightforward, that cannot be denied. However, I don't want to miss a few background twists.
By now, I know that Neroli can be quite overwhelming. But the manufacturer actually wants something different: If I understand the statement “Un estratto di profumo concentrato al 30% per donare freschezza per tutto il giorno” correctly, the scent - loosely translated - is supposed to deliver freshness all day long under the motto "more is more."
As an idea, certainly good. But after barely three-quarters of a spray, I'm practically gasping for air. The sillage fills the surroundings at a Big Bang speed. What a force! Excuse me? This is supposed to be a freshie?
I once had a colleague who was heavily into weightlifting and correspondingly came across as impressively broad-shouldered and thick-armed. However, he was only 1.65m tall and had such a harmless-friendly-round-childlike face that I couldn't help but always think of the Muscle Smurf when I saw him. The scent counterpart is Puro Neroli. It seems somewhat harmless from the outside, but it packs a punch.
I cling to something herb-green alongside the Neroli dominance with relief. That must be the lemon leaf. Thank you! And a contribution from the grounding corner is also discernible, something rough underneath. My favorite colleague guessed it was typical forest moss: “I go [therefore: ‘typical’] into a forest. It has rained. Around a tree, there is moss. Now the sun is shining on it and it is steaming up. That’s how it smells.” Aha. Yeah, that’s fine.
But all of this doesn’t do much against the Neroli natural force. Only by late morning does the scent finally calm down, becoming milder and, above all, less intrusive in projection. Nevertheless, there remains a sticky nimm2-penetrance throughout. That’s not helpful - real freshness feels different.
Despite the sometimes breath-stealing presence, “Puro Neroli” slowly runs out of steam in the eighth hour (which one might find fair considering its own struggle up front).
According to the manufacturer, the scent is also available as a Cologne. That might actually suit better; you can probably confidently reapply without, for example, leaving a narcotic trail behind you in the office. Moreover, I find the quoted 83 euros for 100ml EdP a bit sporty. The Cologne costs about half. Of course, I strongly advise against a blind purchase - I completely agree with the first commentator on that.
I thank Taurus1967 for the sample.
PS: Surprise! I check off orange blossom ex post. It offers a lingering scent on clothing for days. Great.
