A quiet day by the sea

Osmarine is like a calm day at the sea: It is windless, the sea quite calm, gives its maritime notes quite relaxed to the air. The sky is overcast, it is warm, just before sultry, but no danger of thunderstorms, possibly a light summer rain comes. The flowers exude restrained sweetness. The fruit ice cream tastes good.

The scent is rather close to the body and lasts a few hours. Well wearable, no fuss, no citrusy stormy greeting. Suitable for all occasions

Tea Break During a Bike Tour

As is well known, I have a very troubled relationship with the Atlantic: the constant wind harms my health, and so a medical "Atlantic ban" was issued.
That wouldn't have been necessary: who willingly ventures into areas that do not do them good?

So I find myself asking the same question with the strongly maritime scents that I first posed here with "Olympéa": "Do I like you or do I not?"
And yet my curiosity always leads me down the fragrant path of temptation: now it is "Osmarine" by Officina delle Essence that tries to lure me into windy, sun- and scent-filled realms and convince me of its charm.

"Osmarine" tells me about a bike tour on one of the impressive cliff paths of Cornwall: Mrs. Pilcher sends her regards once again - I return the greeting!
The bike paths there, from what I saw in a television documentary (yes, I watch such things!), are well-maintained and offer impressive views of the sea, cliffs, and small sandy beaches - and it is very windy there!
The sea is lively and lets white foam horses ride on its wave crests. It seems to be fun for both; you can almost hear them cheering!
A very lively breeze playfully rustles through the tall, tousled palm fronds; the tall grass, interspersed with robust plants, dances in the wind.
It is a swing out of habit: everything here is in motion!
This vital dance is refined by the seagulls; they screech with delight and always keep an eye out for any morsel that might fall their way - it could happen!
The air is filled with the lively sea: salt, minerals, seaweed, and all that the wind brings along.

But even the coziest bike tour calls for a break. And now, according to "Osmarine," the time has come for that.
A picnic blanket, well-used and dearly loved, is spread out and weighted down at all four corners due to the wind: on one corner, the basket with the small snack is placed.
A large thermos contains aromatic osmanthus tea; this tea has a special scent derived from the flowers of tea hybrids that bloom for just one night.
Its taste is somewhat unique, always a bit dull and exotic. I like it very much!
A large bowl full of juicy raspberries and some sun-ripened sweet oranges are unpacked, weighing down the blanket that keeps billowing in the wind.
The cups, filled with still hot tea, and small bowls of raspberries perfumed with a hint of bergamot, now topped with a yellow-white vanilla cream, smell promising and blend with the spicy wind from the Atlantic into a refreshing fruity-fresh mélange.
Now the sweet oranges have also been peeled and generously release their fruity sweetness.
Hair and clothes flutter in the wind; we are here in Cornwall, the sun is shining, and light white clouds are aimlessly drifting by - on their eternal journey to nowhere.
A large bouquet of white jasmine, picked in a village, lies almost forgotten at the edge of the blanket: the ripe, still slightly bitter scent of this white flower adds a special note to this maritime impression.
"Osmarine" is fruity-fresh and slightly spicy; the proximity of the Atlantic is dominant from the very beginning.
To ensure that this fragrance structure is not immediately blown away by the wind, wise fragrance artisans added well-measured doses of musk and the light earthiness of patchouli.
Thus, "Osmarine" not only paints sunny green spice right by the Atlantic but also connects this very airy scent spirit with the earth.

For every lover of the Atlantic coast and the very special spice of water, sun, wind, and life, "Osmarine" is surely a pleasant change from the large circle of its sibling scents.
Salt on the skin, spicy tea aroma, fruit, and sensual earthiness: what more could one want?

I find this scent entertaining, but it is also a bit too restless for me - too "windy"!
Its strong vitality overwhelms me somewhat and reminds me why I should stay away from this region.
For this airy scent swirl, "Osmarine" is relatively long-lasting; it leaves behind only a slightly aromatic salt as it fades.

So I thank "Osmarine" for this nice excursion to the coast of Cornwall with its vivid impressions.
This bottle may continue its journey and perhaps find someone who appreciates the wide embrace of the ocean more than I can.

Misunderstanding about a USB stick

Recently, our daughter (13) went to dm to print some photos. Indignantly, she reported: “There were a few boys hanging around and looking at me strangely when I arrived with the USB stick. Did they think I couldn’t do it?” We had a hard time keeping a straight face and explained to the visibly maturing young woman that the interest of the pubescent boys was hardly likely to have been about IT competence.

‘Osmarine’ behaves similarly innocent-naive and has, in its own way, a seemingly accidental, more mature part.

A sunscreen-laden sea breeze, jasmine-tinged, the indolic component so delicate that it reminds more of rubber (and that is not a reference to the first paragraph plus two or three years!), while it innocently opens its eyes. A dainty candy-citrus fruit dances in and soon starts a little round with watery bergamot and Haribo peaches.

Sounds cute, yes harmless. It is ultimately so. But it is also airy-fruity-fresh! There can be no doubt that ‘Osmarine’ does not want to be a “big” fragrance, but rather a friendly companion. The fact that the almost Disney-like droll appearance does not come off as silly is thanks to that very jasmine, which, while it sparkled at the front, elevates the scent from the little girl level through its subtle workings in the background.

This has turned out quite well; for me, however, the intriguing question is to what extent the aquatic aspect will be penalized by a brackish water note later on. But for now, the scent glides completely inconspicuously through the morning with a maritime softly fruity subtly floral character.

And the afternoon also knows, well, certainly not to excite, but at least to convince in a solid way. The now rather floral aura is accompanied by a softly creamy vanilla. A slight hint of plastic takes - assuming a “in dubio pro…” - the rubber thought from above back up. At the same time, any potential brackish notes are intercepted, as those could only be imagined directly on the skin.
