First!
Hello dear sniffers. Since there is no review yet, I would like to share my impressions with you.
I found practically no information about this fragrance online, only the scent notes given. These sounded promising and exactly to my taste. I had actually resolved not to make any more blind buys - but I've bought it four times in the last few days. Yes, I am weak. Anyway.
When I had already bought the fragrance, I stumbled across a short review that advertised it as an Angel's Share clone. I hoped that this would not turn out to be the case. I already had the original and, although I liked it, I could do without it in my collection.
Oh well. Came home after the late shift, package in the mailbox - cast off! Sprayed on straight away.
The fragrance starts spicy and slightly fruity. I detect cinnamon and plum, but not as sweet as you might think. There is also a very light freshness, but it remains discreetly in the background; I would have liked a more pronounced orange peel. A boozy touch is also present.
My nose doesn't really smell the iris and myrrh listed, but I'm not a professional either.
The drydown is good - vanilla, tonka bean, sandalwood and caramel sound like a very sweet mixture, but they are not. Fortunately, a spicy note remains throughout the fragrance. The listed smoky notes could have been a little more intense for my taste, they are restrained.
If you know Angel's Share, you will recognize parallels, but the Orientica differs from the Kilian fragrance right from the start, especially in the drydown. I remember Kilian for its hazelnut note, which somehow didn't pick me up. The Orientica is more linear in its fragrance progression, but also has more spice in the drydown and no hazelnut-praline note at all.
I didn't really want to make a comparison, because in my opinion this is not a "dupe attempt" (fortunately). To understand: the fragrances are about as comparable as Azraq and Oajan.
What I noticed: The high oil content that the fragrance leaves on the skin. It is labeled as an extrait. But it is not a sillage monster. However, the longevity is good so far - I sprayed it on before going to sleep and could still detect it close to the skin after nine hours.
Considering the fair price (I paid 45 euros for 120 ml), you can definitely give it a try. I will report on the sillage and longevity in detail as soon as I have gained meaningful everyday experience.
