Marzipan Extrême
Among drugstore fragrances, Otto Kern is considered one of the best brands. And the Signature range in particular comes off quite well. Time to take a closer look at one of the (very affordable) representatives.
Signature Extrême starts very spicy and very sweet. I detect a strong marzipan-like note. Is that nutmeg? Or is it sage? The composition is a little strange at times. Sometimes it is spicier, sometimes sweeter, sometimes it has this synthetic marzipan flair, then again it is cleaner and more inconspicuous.
Later on, the synthetic marzipan fades and the fragrance tends a little in the direction of Noir Extreme Eau de Parfum, but certainly never reaches its class. Nevertheless, Signature Extrême smells more expensive than it is.
The performance is also very okay for the price: the sillage is perfectly fine in terms of its intensity and can be heard for around 6 hours before it reaches the skin.
The bottle is unusual and appealing, except for the cheap plastic in the middle. It could have been of a slightly higher quality. But yes, the price. But then again, the spray head is right.
The fragrance is suitable for dates and (casual) evening events.
