Great "Arab" with Dark Depths
At some point in the last 5 years, I purchased this fragrance quite cheaply at an African store near us. There, alongside typical African clothing for men and women, they also sell scents that you won't find in any European perfumery. I have quite a collection of these mostly "Arabian" fragrances, including this rather unknown one, which is probably no longer in production.
Today, I took it out from the depths of the cool dark cupboard for a refill for a dear "Parfumo." I was really pleased to sniff it again after a long time. I hadn't remembered it being this wonderful.
Here, "heavy" woods and rich spices compete for attention. A fine musky aura lies over everything. But I can also detect ROSES. Dark red, spicy-floral roses, like those often used in much more expensive fragrances. Beneath them lies an almost endless woody depth, alongside slightly "fiery" spices, with that delicate musky veil holding everything "together." As the wear time progresses, all the "highs and lows" of the perfume emerge, becoming increasingly "deeper" and softer. The roses are an indispensable part of the entire scent, without playing the leading role. THAT is already taken by the amber and the woods. The spices also now have "only" a supporting role, without completely disappearing. They cheekily greet from time to time from the "dark depths" and pleasantly tease the nose!
I can confidently describe the longevity and sillage as "above average."
