The Leather Roll-On from Arab Lands
For many years, I hadn't actively purchased a perfume roll-on, only occasionally tested them when the time was right to stroll into an Arab shop. Personally, I find the oils there quite interesting; however, they often consist of scents that are somewhat familiar but in a different variation and, above all, with enormous longevity. In any case, I recently bought two of them online to test what this market has to offer again. The Classic Leather discussed here was noticeably present on my wrist for an entire day and sent out at least some scent wafts after half a day. Remarkably, these oils are often very intense.

To put it simply, Classic Leather smells like Tuscan Leather but with a mandarin note instead of raspberry. That was my first impression, but it turned out to be inaccurate, as the scent is more reminiscent of Tobacco Blaze by Rasasi, which mixes leather with apricot. What is too overpowering and sweet there due to the overripe apricot presents itself as more balanced in Classic Leather. The mandarin is distinct, yet not perceived as overripe. It walks the fine line between being pleasantly appealing and just a tad too much. However, it does not cross that line. In fact, the mandarin lasts extremely long; only towards the end does it smell predominantly of intense leather, most comparable to AdP's Leather. It smells more refined, not overwhelming in leather, and certainly not like a burnt car or whatever. Well-measured, that sums it up. By the way: it never smells excessively like a burnt car; you just have to like leather :)

Now that we've casually approached the subject from the back, let's get to the opening. This is complemented by citrus notes. These are clearly distinguishable, reminding me slightly of AdP Leather but not as well as with the Italians. Still remarkable. Relatively early on, the pepper appears, which actually adds some sharpness to the scent, and that harmonizes well. Iris supports the leather, while the base notes are not dominant for me, due to the outstanding longevity of the other notes. Leather lasts for a day, the mandarin nearly twelve hours, as already explained. Incredible. Hopefully, it washes off in the shower; I actually wanted to change the scent.

In summary, one must ask why a 6ml perfume oil roll-on for five euros smells and lasts better than many expensive bottles. Does it have to be TL or Oro 1920? My honest opinion is yes, because I find both scents outstanding, which is very subjective and therefore should not be a judgment in the true sense, but of course, the price-performance ratio is a joke compared to Classic Leather.
So, for anyone who still finds La Yuqawam and its flankers too expensive, which can be the case, they would be well advised with Arabs like Orientica and its Leather Oudh or with Classic Leather from (now I have to read this again) Oudh al Anfar.

Finally! CLASSIC and not WILD LEATHER
Every man needs at least one leather scent… I thought. Only to realize that even the top-rated leather fragrances smell too much and very strictly of new suede for me. Why not. My associations, however, were different.

This one somehow manages to avoid that "sour preservatives" note, which makes it feel very "mature." Simply darker and earthier. And then it actually turns into a dark floral scent where a tiny bit of oud peeks through in the background, which becomes more pronounced as the flowers fade away. The finale returns to leather. It’s certainly not the new bestseller, but this combination with the coherent intertwining and sequence of the aforementioned components makes it a reliable friend.

I only have the 6-ml Concentrated Perfume Free From Alcohol Deo Roller in front of me, and I haven’t found anything else online quickly. Therefore, evaluating the sillage is a bit tricky.

The bottle is once again typically Made in U.A.E. Rough pressed glass with a label that has edges sticking out, so poorly does it adhere. And anyone who, like me, thinks they need to pull off the cap will immediately split it, as it is actually screwed on. But whoops, the plastic insert is back in the cap made of ultra-thin original trumpet metal. Overall, it has the appearance just above a plastic capsule from a gumball machine. It just smells much better.

Conclusion: You can definitely pick it up if the opportunity arises.

Beautiful, floral-free scent. The top notes don't come through. Overall more Oud than leather. Woody, elevated, and for the price...

Peppery leather, garnished with citrus freshness. Not a reinvention but a solid oil for little money. The iris has a woody-fresh vibe.

Pretty nice, I would say, reminds me of scents like Joop Wow or Lalique Equus, just not as sweet, more on the bitter side. Interesting but not for me.
