Take a deep breath in the urban jungle

In December last year, an absolute dream came true for me and I traveled to New York for the first time. This city had been a place of longing for me for an incredibly long time, with its many great museums, Broadway, architecture...so it was all the more important for me to bring back a fragrance from there that would always remind me of this time.
New York even exceeded my expectations, I found it much cleaner and less smelly than expected and was infected with the New York fever so that I am already dreaming of returning one spring to see all the other great places this city has to offer.
"The city that never sleeps", as the Big Apple is also known. And I can confirm that, everywhere is vibrant with life and a very special atmosphere buzzes through the air. In Times Square, you are almost visually overwhelmed by the changing neon signs and in some streets you are simply swallowed up by the crowd and carried along with the flow. And although it's loud and bright and just "a lot", I loved every minute of it.
There are also places away from Times Square and Fifth Avenue, neighborhoods like Greenwich or SoHO, where you can let yourself drift through and fantasize about what it would be like to live here permanently. And for me, Father Figure conveys this more relaxed side of New York perfectly. The fragrance opens with the eponymous fig, very creamy and with delicate green speckles, but a sweet, dense iris quickly takes over. This is minimally powdery, but really only very delicate, like pralines covered in a thin layer of powdered sugar. Vanilla is also mixed in, enhancing the sweetness even further. Patchouli is present, but is completely hidden from my nose. From start to finish, the fragrance resembles a thick, fluffy blanket or even a dessert with a thick layer of cream. There is nothing light about the fragrance for me, it is incredibly dense in my nose and not very permeable, but envelops you like a cocoon.
And this is where my New York adventure comes full circle, because in this lively, sometimes overwhelming city, Father Figure is the little piece of relaxation you need before you plunge back into the hustle and bustle of the big city. Once I take a deep breath, I immediately feel grounded and almost a little "zen". The fragrance is not particularly complex, but it doesn't always have to be, sometimes it's enough to focus on the essentials and simply convey a good feeling - and that's what Father Figure does.
In any case, I'm very happy with my vacation souvenir and when I spray it on now, I take a deep breath, close my eyes and catapult myself back to the Brooklyn Bridge, Central Park and the MoMa, depending on what I'm in the mood for...
