Acqua Di Pino Fougère Pino Silvestre 2020

This is similar to the iconic Sauvage but this has a cleaner approach, more marine.

This one feels lighter due to the Marine note. This doesn't have a resinous dry down.

It lasts a while. The dry down is more fresh and clean compared to Sauvage.

I have compared them in the past. This is more lighthearted, airy and marine, very natural and realistic evening beach walk vibe. It's like aftershave on the beach during sunset lol

I'm not a fan of Sauvage because we ladies are just sick of that player lol but I do like this.

Attention, the following is a review that is half fragrance evaluation and half travel guide.

Acqua di Pino was a chance encounter for me.
Discovered in the souk, I found the scent notes interesting, so I bought it on a whim. After a few days, I was so taken with it that I purchased the fragrance blindly.
About 20€ is worth the risk.

Without having too high expectations, the fragrance completely surprised and delighted me. It captures the scents of the island of Corfu, which I had the pleasure of visiting three years ago. I will try to describe the olfactory feeling and experience as best as I can.

Corfu is a Greek island in the Ionian Sea, not too far from the southeastern part of the Italian coast.
The island is green and characterized by coniferous trees, cypress, and famous for its olive trees, although the latter are not part of the scent description.
Rather, it is about the balsamic scent of pine needles that accompany the entire fragrance journey.
There is always a light breeze on Corfu, blowing through the pine woods. The many smaller to medium beaches bring fresh sea air into the mix, which is also reflected in the fragrance through aquatic notes and mint.
I can also perceive lemon, which in my memory finds its place as summer sunshine and adds a brightening, invigorating accent.
In general, I am thrilled by the complex progression of this affordable, fresh green fragrance. The described notes are clearly recognizable at different times throughout the progression, and the fougère influences find their place, subtly embedded in freshness, balsam, and citrus, as well as slightly earthy notes.
Quality doesn't always have to be expensive, as this fragrance shows me - by the way - it lasted 9 hours on my skin, of which it radiated comfortably for 6 hours, even if not overwhelmingly.

My description of the fragrance captures the north of the green island. I recommend everyone to visit it at least once; even Empress Sissi loved it there and had her summer residence near Corfu Town.
At times, the island was inhabited by Italians, and the cultural mix of Greek and Italian aspects is palpable throughout the island.
The north is probably the most beautiful part. Here it is particularly green, more secluded, the landscape is more memorable, and the roads wind over swaying cliffs, with the villages being significantly smaller.
However, one should have a rental car here to be mobile. The small winding roads are great to explore with your own car, and you can easily discover every part of the island. Otherwise, the capital is located in the southeast, from where you can get to the most central locations, and the largest hotels are found there. Although not as scenically spectacular as other parts of the island, this area has the best connections, offers the highest hotel comfort, and allows you to explore the city with its historical hotspots.
The fragrance captures for me lightness, joy of life, and summer; its intimate sillage invites closeness, each spray is a little piece of vacation, with the most memorable part for me being the refreshed, sun-kissed pine that instantly brings me back to this wonderful island.

This time no cork bottle, which I know as the standard glass container from Pino Silvestre?
Well, whatever, it doesn't matter, the scent is great! Here we have a spicy "Aqua Forest," like I have hardly smelled before. And,... the surprising thing,... there is a whole lot of "pine" in it. The green-fresh aroma of the needles, cones, and the resinous bark. On top of that, the sunny aroma of some citrus fruits. Next to it, wonderfully herbaceous blue lavender, with a hint of mint, geranium, and sage in the middle. Underneath, earthy and fine woody notes. Always present - from beginning to end - a fresh, slightly salty "sea breeze," which creates a wonderfully unique connection with all the scents. It makes me think of beach pines, gently swayed by a pleasantly cool breeze. And the fir trees, which charmingly interact with everything. "Signore Silvestre" has come up with something great and almost "cult-like" with this perfume. All I can say is... "Hats off!-- BRAVO, PINO!! ;-))
