Okay, the bottle is a nuisance, but the scent.....
The lovely Pudelbonzo made me curious with her comment, and I surfed the internet for Pure DNA. There I found this fragrance for a mere 9.00 including shipping. You can't go wrong with a spontaneous order, it's practically a gift. Pure DNA was the third scent to join my collection this week; I could really use my own fragrance cabinet by now.
Pure DNA is a surprise in a positive sense. A light oriental, I don't perceive the jasmine (thank goodness), the violet starts right away along with the spices, and the patchouli is fine and subtly dosed. My husband sniffs at my wrist, mmm, light and summery. That's the amazing thing about this scent; the oriental aspect is undeniable, but Pure DNA is not an oriental heavyweight, rather it is herbaceous, dry-powdery, and fresh. And definitely wearable in these temperatures. Towards the base, the fragrance becomes a bit warmer and softer, finishing with a hint of fine vanilla and musk.
Longevity and sillage are in the medium to weak range, and the bottle looks dreadful. However, it is heavy and better crafted than I expected. Right now it sits on the sideboard because I need to make some space for the newcomers. Every time I walk past the bottle, I think it’s going to FIZZ, FIZZ and a cloud of scent will come out, like those air fresheners. But that's also the only downside to this fragrance, and at this price, it's definitely worth it; the scent more than makes up for it. And for the guys, Pure DNA might be too powdery, oh well, just give it a try.
