The scent of a harvest walk

Applied at 09h.
Scent starts out not too sweet, very gentle, lightly fruity-floral. About 11h the cassis swims to the top, then towards 12-13h it's an absolute garden of delight that follows me everywhere. Then at 17h there's that exotic warmth, that will dry down to insense on the skin.
Great sillage, as I didn't have to smell my wrist, just wave my arm!
Longevity is great, too; it passed the 9-to-5 test... AND the sniff test.
Considering I paid €9,95 for a 40ml bottle that retails for €30-40, the value us excellent.
AND I'm loving the bottle! ;-)

Exotic Jungle?

I received this perfume as a gift years ago, and since I’m not one to just throw things away, I am now diligently using it up. This means it’s not that bad after all. Why? It’s close to the skin, you don’t leave a cloud behind with it, and it doesn’t offend anyone with the scent. However, you also don’t get compliments on how great it is.

Describing the scent is not easy for me, as it just smells sweet, sugary, and slightly vanilla-like. The other interesting notes listed, such as plum, blackcurrant, and lemon in the top notes, I can’t detect at all with my nose.

In any case, I don’t feel like I’ve been dropped in an exotic jungle while wearing it. It’s a bit of a shame :)

The bottle is a matter of debate. I find it rather practical. It fits well in the hand. Everything else is a matter of taste.

I’m finishing up the scent now and hope it will be empty soon. To help it along, I apply a slightly sweet body lotion beforehand, and this way, the scent lasts about 3 to 4 hours. As I said, it’s quite close to the skin.

Not really worth a review

The scent is OK, doesn't hurt anyone, you can wear it, you can leave it... Floral, fruity, later moving into a vanilla note. I even detected that without knowing the fragrance pyramid. Nothing special, but not bad either.

I'm writing this review because there isn't enough space in the statement to simply lay out: I find the "flacon" (yes, let's call it that) incredibly ugly. Yes, I know, it's a matter of taste; if someone enjoys it, I don't want to take that away from them, but I just find this skull crap (the S-word, of course, only for the alliteration) downright ugly. And the painted version here is even creepier. What am I supposed to do with it? Voodoo? Then spray the slaughtered victim chicken with the scent? Or put it in front of the house on Halloween so that the kids are too scared to ring the bell?

Addendum: I wanted to give 0 points for the "flacon," but I didn't figure out how to do that.

Very pleasing scent at a very friendly price. Not sure I get a "jungle" vibe though, it's more of a fruity tropical paradise.

Ugly bottle, but: It reminds me of Tresor a la folie. Sure, folie is prettier, deeper, but Police is an affordable alternative.

À la Folie 8.5, which is only 6.7 here? Must be the name after all. They smell almost the same, and this one even lasts longer on the test strip. Great!
