Tasmanian Sandalwood Devils Dance...
I came across this fragrance quite unexpectedly. A dear club mate brought it from France. Right in a double pack... in the wise foresight that I would like this "Tasmanian Sandal"... and with the "thought" that he could trade it for one of my double Pasha de Cartier Eau de Toilette. "Deal" successful, fragrance just as well. Both highly satisfied.
What strikes me first when spraying is the similarity to Féminité du bois .... but with a very own "twist". It starts fresh-peppery-smoky with a distinct violet. This is gently accompanied by bergamot. Jasmine is pretty much in the background, but still recognizable. This remains the case for quite a while. Until after 3 to 4 hours, the wonderful sandalwood note increasingly develops. Other woody notes join in as well, the listed musk is, at least for me, hardly discernible. If so, then as a cool delicate whisper. After a few more hours, a clearly perceptible duet of violet and sandalwood remains... A dance, very unique - long-lasting - never intrusive. "Femininity of wood"?? Somehow yes, but significantly more androgynous...
