Clean, refreshing, ice cold
Le Barbier de Tanger is beautiful and classic, but not exciting or original - it’s just a well crafted fougere. VERY well crafted. It is so smooth, mellow, and beautifully composed. A very professional, cerebral scent. I don't feel like I need any other fougeres with this in my collection.
It's also the first fragrance that has physically made me feel cold. I don’t know how to explain it, but the sillage feels like a cool breeze. It's incredibly clean and refreshing, making me feel like I just got out of the shower. Reminds me of shaving foam too. It's my go-to on hot days.
Although not listed as a note, I think it smells strongly of fennel. This works in the composition, but does sometimes create a curry-like note in the drydown, which is the only thing I don't totally love.
