Warm spicy security - or: perfectionism from only 3 ingredients.

First tested in 2016 - then in a very hot August in the Rituals store in Amsterdam.
Due to the weather, he could not convince me at that time to buy - probably the sweaty afternoon on which I tested him, he so watered down that I could hardly perceive him already after 2h.

Time jump to the year 2021!

Finally again (reasonably) "free" travel & so also in this long summer vacation my visit to my old home was of course not missing.

On the weather-technically most unpleasant day of my visit (drizzle, windy in addition 17 ° C and neatly cloudy) I decided to test it again - so off to the store and the top floor ...

Prelude:
Already when smelling the sprayer of the bottle, the white pepper note is clearly noticeable - but not just any white pepper, no - freshly mortared white peppercorns (you can hear the cracking of the grains literally ...) - so a spray each right & left to the neck & the same for both wrists. White pepper first pungent (for 20-30 seconds) - then dimmed & the Persian amber joins after a good 2 min increasingly clear.

Course:
The Persian amber now alternates between typical warm-spicy & a loose softness - which I would almost describe as gentle - slow approach of the musk - after 15min, the musk takes the lead on my skin & leads the Persian amber with him now becoming softer and softer - the continuously less sharp kick of the white pepper remains but is now increasingly difficult - sometimes he flashes through sharp, sometimes he is rather warm-spicy-soft to hear. So the fragrance remains with me with 4 sprays over 4h an arm's length well perceptible before he then becomes skin-tight. On clothes he is 3 days loosely perceptible - after showering in the evening the whole bathroom smelled like the king of the Orient.

Conclusion:
Definitely the best fragrance creation from the house of Rituals so far. Just its simplicity & the linearity in the scent course secure him currently even a place in my top 10.
A great creation & once again proof that it does not need umpteen ingredients to create a distinctive fragrance!

My tip:
Just now in the early evening make an autumn walk through woods & meadows - after coming home put on the favorite tea - let in a nice bath - after bathing spray with Roi d'Orient - put on the favorite sweater (best of wool!) - with blanket & tea on the sofa - fire up the stove - enjoy peace & just relax & feel good - have now already received feedback from several people that this fragrance gives a feeling of security - which I can quite understand.

So Rituals PLEASE do not adjust or reformulate - the is as it is very close to perfection!
