A Fresh Coconut Breeze
Wow, I did not expect to like this so much. NYC Pure Crush is a surprisingly good coconut scent. SJP's original NYC was such a run of the mill, overly sweet, fruity-floral that I did not hold up much hope for this one. Coconut is also so frequently done badly in perfumes that, although I love the fruit's smell, I never really expect good things in coconut-based scents. The note is so often artificial smelling.
I find the coconut in NYC Pure Crush to be fresh, gently sweet and natural smelling. Coconut is a natural with white flowers for a tropical fragrance, and the floral and coconut notes are married very nicely here (with the coconut definitely being dominant). This is more of a fresh tropical breeze-type scent rather than a beachy suntan lotion aroma. The vanilla is soft and gentle as well, not at all sharp or burnt smelling as can sometime be the case with vanilla.
This is not an especially complex scent, but if you are a fan of coconut, you should absolutely check this out. Well done SJP.
