My first niche fragrance
It was August 2019, I was 29 years old. We were in Italy on Lake Como. In the second week, we went on a trip to Como.
How I love this country. It's my favorite travel destination. The flair, the people, the food, the sun...
I strolled through the streets of Como with my partner A. Our anniversary was in two weeks' time. I should look around here for a present. I thought a new fragrance would be nice. My collection consisted of 8 fragrances at the time. "Marc Jacobs - Daisy, La Vie est Belle, Lanvin - Éclat d'Arpège" and Cool Water by Davidoff and a few other insignificant fragrances from the drugstore. Como was the first time I came into contact with the niche world.
Because we came across a small niche perfumery. A middle-aged saleswoman served us. I tried to communicate with my hands and feet, as my English and her English were not particularly good. I tried to explain to her what I was looking for. The fragrance should be feminine, elegant but also playful. Definitely not too sweet...
I tried out almost the entire store. My friend and the friendly sales assistant had to be patient. But they both kept their cool and let me have my way with a smile on their faces. The sales clerk was so kind and held one fragrance strip after another under my nose.
I was overwhelmed by the whole selection. I found the prices utopian at the time, as I had never bought a fragrance that cost more than €50 before.
But the prices here were well above that.
My boyfriend said it didn't matter what it cost, he wanted to give it to me as a present. Nevertheless, I told the saleswoman no, the price limit should be €100 and it should ideally be an Italian brand so that the fragrance reminds me of our vacation.
Then she showed me the brand "Simone Cosac". I tested all the brand's fragrances and got stuck on Bianca.
That's the fragrance! It was exactly what I was looking for.
The white bottle looks so classy. I've never owned a bottle like this before.
The fragrance is so pure, clean and fresh but still classy and feminine and floral.
I fell in love with the fragrance and my boyfriend bought it for me.
The sales clerk added lots of perfume samples. I kept them at home for years like a treasure in a shoe box. At the time, I didn't know that in a few years I would have a perfume collection of over 100 bottles.
I walked out of the store with my perfume bag and my new treasure, overjoyed. It was a scorching hot day. The sun was just setting and we ate another ice cream.
My great passion for perfume only came two years later, when my father was in a coma. During the weeks of anxiety, I tried to distract myself. I discovered Parfumo. I read fragrance reviews and ordered a few new fragrances. The world of perfume is so big, so diverse. The components of a fragrance, which notes you can smell... A whole new world opened up to me. Since then, I've been trapped in this world and don't want to break out of it.
Simone Cosac's "Bianca" will always be with me and will always have a place in my heart. The scent will always remind me of the two weeks I spent in Italy. Of Lake Como, the experiences and impressions.
"Bianca" was my first niche fragrance but also the fragrance of my love for A.
When I marry A. one day, I want to wear Bianca at my wedding. That's already clear to me.
