tfw u accidentally slurp yr lotion and slather yr pudding

Skylar Vanilla Sky smells as if some creative team somewhere thought they should make Mugler’s Angel but for babies. Someone on legal raised their hand and said, "babies are too young for this; they're boring and can’t handle their shit." But then the sales team was like, “hey, shut up, this is happening.” The end product was ultimately that apricot caramel patchouli Angel blueprint, but heavily watered down with Bath and Body Works' discontinued Rice Flower and Shea body spray. The result is something profoundly and offputtingly creamy that smells like you accidentally mixed up your coconut hand cream with your vanilla pudding cup, slathering the wrong one and slurping the wronger one. Save your money, discerning babies. This stuff is pretty gross.

Love it!

Somehow the rollerball is sweeter than the spray. I was not getting really any sweetness from this scent, but now it’s all I get when using the rollerball. Finally! That is what I was looking for. Probably will stick to buying the rollerball and it also projects better than the spray.
But it is such a cozy warm vanilla and caramel scent, doesnt smell cheap or very synthetic. The cappuccino and cinnamon come out a lot, especially in the colder weather.
In the spray, it smelled very fresh with the tiniest hint of vanilla.

Creamy, cozy, sexy amber-vanilla

I surprisingly didn't get any coffee with this. Instead, it smelled like a creamy rootbeer float mixed with a thick, resinous amber. I usually don't like rootbeer-esque fragrances, but this is an exception as it feels more "amber vanilla" to me - and it's gorgeous!

Dry-down (took about an hour on my skin to get there) was a soft, creamy bourbon vanilla solinote. A sweet, cozy, sexy amber-vanilla that I'm addicted to - perfect for cold weather!

If this fragrance embodied a person, I would say it reminds me of the girls on the TV show Pretty Little Liars - their flirty, feminine style + a bit of a Victoria's Secret "lacey/noir/sexy" perfume vibe.

Projects well on my skin - I only wish it lasted longer (after a couple of hours, it's all but gone for me).

A perfume for coffee lovers

If only I loved coffee, this would probably be one of my favorite perfume. Instead I'm a chaï lover, which is why I prefer Fall Cashmere over this one. Objectively speaking, you're greeted by a strong, dark and creamy cup of cappucino. The notes are bright and early, as if the sun was greeting you while you sipped your hot cuppa. Jasmine and vanilla contribute to the creamy sweet aspect of the scent. Cinnamon adds a slightly spicy and dark tinge to the perfume. Things start to fall apart when the caramelized cedar arrives. I don't know why, but cedar always pulls way too strong on my skin, becoming a dark, woody note, almost bitter and acrid to my nose. The woodiness of the base notes soon end up fighting with the rest of the perfume, which tears it apart. I'm left with the ghose of a cup of cappucino and a whole lot of sugared woody notes. It's not bad per se, but since I'm not the greatest fan of in-your-face woody notes, this won't be making it in my collection.

I do get why it's beloved by many. It has better longevity and sillage than most of the Skylar's I've smelled from the discovery set. It's great if you want the smell of gourmand coffee, just like I love to smell like chaï. Unfortunately, since I don't drink coffee and I dislike the heavy woody note at the end this stops it from entering my collection.

Caramel latte and turtleneck sweater in a bottle

I smelled this and thought, "This is what a popular girl smells like." That's just the vibe of this. It's warm and super sweet and the kind of scent where someone in the room says, "What smells so good?!" It's not the most complex, but it's also not one-note vanilla. *Wearing* this scent may not be for everyone, but I think it's pretty hard to smell this and think it smells *bad.* It's simply likable.

I wish it were a liiiitle more grounded and serious. Maybe the popular-girl-ness that I'm getting is that it's reminiscent of the Victoria's Secret and Bath and Body Works body sprays we wore in high school. But it's an easy fix to layer it with an uncomplicated sandalwood or cedar scent to grow it up a bit.

I find it very comforting and sweet, and I honestly don't mind that it fades somewhat quickly because while I do really like it, it's not really my vibe for more than a few hours at a time.
