Ocean breeze
Wow, apparently I’m in the minority for liking this scent! To me, it smells like… well, salty air. The breeze off the ocean. It is somewhat synthetic, but in a way I like that, because the actual ocean can smell pretty funky. Lightly floral, but primarily aquatic and fresh. I would have purchased a full bottle of this if the lasting power was decent, but it’s pretty bad. Unfortunately, I’ve found that to be the case for all of Skylar’s scents.

Acid Rain
It's rare that I completely dislike a fragrance. I can at least appreciate what the perfumer is trying to do, or something creative in it, or that it is ordinary. But to my nose this opens with a blast of hairspray and then continues to smell like the fragrances that are used to cover up the awful scent of the chemicals in nearly all the drugstore hair products that have been on those shelves since the 1980s.

You might be reminded of any discount scent that describes itself as "rain" because that's the accord here, the notes that corporations have been trying to pass off as "fresh" and "clean" for decades when they're actually deeply aquatic, heavy, overwhelming, and cloying.

If you like that, you will love this.

Scent struggling to find its beach identity
Salt Air is definitely a strange perfume with the different accords, but they don't always blend harmoniously well together. Sea salt is always faint in the background, a subtle undertone that feels like you're smelling the ocean that's way off in the distance. Kelp gives a watery, aquatic feel to the overall scent, but it's subdued, way too small to mean anything really. The heart notes are the strongest ones pulling on my skin with their creamy florals. It gives soft and clean girl aesthetic, but also sunscreen, beach and sunkissed skin. The drydown is woody with a touch of sweetness coming from the vanilla. I find that the perfume overall struggled with its theme and notes. Weirdly enough, I get an almost coconut accord coming from the perfume, that reminds me of "Coconut Cove | Skylar", one of their perfume I disliked for its plasticky and synthetic undertone. The same plasticky undertone can be found here, although it's less prominent. Florals in the middle notes are way too strong and the woody note at the end paired with the vanilla is a bit sickening (not in a positive way).

Overall, it's a pretty inoffensive perfume, but I find it too generic and boring. It also fades away very fast, leaving almost nothing behind. I've smelled better salted fragrances out there and for the price, this one ain't it.

Masculine and great for layering. I've been layering it with Glossier You for a masculine scent or Skylar's Coconut Cove for a summery one.

It smells like Sprite soda mixed with household cleaners (window cleaner, lemon and floral). Sharp, synthetic, doesn't blend well.

Smells like a nail salon on my skin. Super synthetic, chemical smell. Don’t smell any sort of ocean smell

Struggles with balancing the overly creamy floral middle notes. Vanilla paired with woody driftwood in the drydown is not that great too.
