My Favorite Cozy Sweater

FC is as warm and cozy as a favorite sweater. I love creaminess of the roasted almond in the opening. It goes so well with the cinnamon and other spices. Granted, if you do not like cinnamon, you should avoid this fragrance.

I get some clove and a bit of the matcha along with the cinnamon in the heart of the fragrance. As the almond fades out during the heart of the fragrance, the vanilla begins to appear, keeping the creaminess ofa the fragrance present.

The cinnamon remains in the drydown, which is smooth, rich and ambery, with just a little sandalwood to keep it grounded. Good performance. On me, it lasts about 6 hours before becoming a very light, spicy vanilla skin scent.

As some people think it's synthetic or too sweet, I can't say it's a great blind buy, but I think this is a marvelous spicy gourmand fragrance, perfect for fall/winter. It's my favorite scent to wear when curling up by the fireplace, with a good book or going to brunch with my girlfriends.

The holy grail of sweet, spicy fall gourmands!

This absolutely smells like fall wax melts/candles - but it somehow totally works, and is currently my #1 favorite fall fragrance!

It smells like all things gourmand and edible in autumn. To my nose, it's:

- a dense, sweet pumpkin bread
- cinnamon pinecones from a craft store
- mulled apple cider (while apple isn't listed, I swear it's there! The mulled cider note is more fleeting than the other notes though)

It feels like watching Gilmore Girls in the fall: sure, it's "basic" - but who doesn't love golden leaves, feel-good nostalgia, and pure autumn-gourmand joy?

The cinnamon doesn't choke out the fragrance like many others have said (at least not on my skin).

Downsides:
- it's a very quiet/soft fragrance; soon after applying, you have to sniff close to your skin
- doesn't project well
- doesn't last long, especially for the price

Warm, spicy and comforting creamy chaï fragrance!

Now that I've been on this fragrance journey for a few months, I decided to get back to the first fragrances I bought at the beginning and review them with my newly aquired knowledge. This is one of them.

I got Fall Cashmere as a sampler when I bought stuff at Sephora. Wasn't expecting much, but I was immediately blown away by this warm creamy, spicy, and comforting scent. It immediately conjured up images of a well-blended chaï tea with a hint of cream. Ginger, cinnamon and clove blend together to create this astounding soft but warm and spicy accord that I just keep going back to. I do get people who think it smells like some kind of generic autumn-type of candles because it lingers at the border of it (cloves and cinnamon are thoroughly used in generic fall candles), but to me it goes way deeper than that. There's a certain complexity to it that I associate with the spice blend of a hot cup of creamy chaï tea. The spices linger a long time on my skin (which is a good thing) and it ends up drying into notes that I love (vanilla, amber, sandalwood). The sandalwood brings out this grounded woody accord that blends well with the spices. This one doesn't need a lot of sprays to leave a sillage: I've had comments from my coworkers that I have sprayed on too much (although I always spray the same amount), so be careful.

I have a full bottle in my collection and I will keep buying one until it becomes discontinued. It fullfills very well my need for a warm spicy fragrance during the colder days!

Gourmand perfect for autumn

I bought a small rollerball to try it because I do enjoy almond scents, and anything with amber. It’s unisex, for sure!

This is a very warming, rich perfume that makes me want to cuddle up on the couch. I have been wearing it all day today and the sillage and longevity are both wonderful. I can smell myself without even trying from my wrist to my nose.

I find this to be a gourmand fragrance and it’s perfect for autumn although I’m going to wear it year round.

The price point is low, so if you have a chance to sniff, definitely do it!

Aspirational Candle

Diptyque makes a candle called Noisetier, which is supposed to smell like a hazelnut tree but it
actually smells like bananas for some reason to me. This fragrance is like a very basic version of what I imagined that candle should actually smell like. It opens with a fresh hazelnut accord, with a bit of cinnamon potpourri in the background. It would make a good candle, or wax melt. You might enjoy it if that sounds fun.
