Semi-vintage floral
Think animalic jasmin and you will know into which direction this goes. However, a stereotypical indolic stinker is not quite it. The big bold jasmin is placed in a frame of waxy animalics and woody notes. A few facets that I think I picked up along the way are caraway, charcoal, sweat, bubblegum and grease. Lots of brown, dark brown tones here.

The tongue-in-cheek hints in the name and the bottle’s ball-gag appearance (that may well just be my imagination, sorry guys) are not needed. The animalics are obviously there but not in that kinky Francesca Bianchi way. This is functional support to the big opulent floral.

BD may be introduced as a vintage floral but I sense a proper contemporary artisan work. Both in terms of materials and composition.

BD - @malloparfums

Constantly looking for unique and sophisticated pieces, thanks to my friend @smel_like I managed to get my hands on this fantastic work.

The name of the fragrance is indicative of what the nose wants to express and the graphic representation placed inside the very limited edition package leaves no room for misunderstandings.

BD stands for bondage, the practice of immobilizing a willing partner or temporarily limiting their sensory capacity.

The perfume is clearly vintage, animal, sexual, but never annoying. A decadent jasmine, a little sweet, a little salty that gives an incredible erotic face and goes straight into the olfactory bulbs of those around you.

Luck would have it that I received bowl No. 1.

Like a porn actor!

•Notes: Liquidambar styraciflua, Assam oud, castoreum from Canada, Jasminum grandiflorum and Civettictis civetta from Ethiopia

Ancient Aphrodisiac from Dark Anubis Masks
Funnel-shaped jasmine flowers grow from their indolic eyes. What the hell was in there earlier? A dissociative sedative of bitter-sharp valerian. Experimental medication made from alkaloid nepetalactone. An aphrodisiac for cats. They wear dark Anubis masks made of heavy wild leather. I feel their warm breath. In the shadows, their lush bodies blend into pheromone secretions and musk animals. They sail on wooden barges with their sails made of animal hides over the styrax full of brown amber. A liquid torch in the darkness. A glimpse into a bygone era.

Antonio Lasheras from Zaragoza creates handmade fragrances for his label Mallo from 100% natural, mostly rare raw materials in high concentrations and small batches. Small time capsules. "Moments of memory that time will bury."
"BD" is a tribute to the lush floral-animalic scents of past times. Indolic jasmine and a hint of bitter-sharp valerian-like castoreum soon blend with animal-leathery and warm musky notes of civet, which resonate deep into the base of woody-leathery, spicy Assam oud and slightly vanilla-like, sweet-balsamic liquidambar. The ancient aphrodisiac has a distinctly moderate presence over a long time.

That fiery sadness called desire
Suddenly you were there. A creature of the night with glowing eyes in the shadow of the new moon. You wrapped me in black flowers until brittle wood and leather strips melted into cat fur, and before I could comprehend it, I was you. In all those dark hours, I felt your amber-soft hand on my forehead and the feverish flesh. In those sleepless nights, as the breaths of unspoken words grew louder. Because we are all ready in the light to taste sweet lies when our hearts are hungry. Then we fall silent, so that the little world remains orderly, dreaming of the happiness of the future to forget that the present has long become the past.
Lead me to where my thoughts are. Listen to the unspoken words skin to skin at my side, for the unsaid speaks at night and its truths are bitter, even as the black wings of the night moths smooth over the surging waves, as jasmine blossoms unfold in slow motion, laying something over our souls that is much older than we are. Then your leather hand closes around my wrist. Insistently. Gently. Just one step. A willing stumble into the familiar darkness. Because you do not shy away from my abysses, reflecting in them, and so I close my eyes, intoxicated by the feeling of dizziness, as we lose the wooden floors beneath our feet, letting ourselves drift in the current of time, souls touching in a place that never was and yet always will be.

Whenever I smell BD, Patti Smith whispers in my ear: “Never let go of that fiery sadness called desire.” And because I would never dare to contradict Patti Smith, I wear BD with all the passion at my disposal. But is it just my eternal olfactory desire for dark flowers and rough leather along with my boundless admiration for Patti Smith that ensures this fragrance does not let me go?
From a purely rational-analytical perspective, BD is not particularly complex: A cartload of hallucinogenic jasmine meets the distinctly perceivable medicinal-leathery castoreum from the very beginning, balancing the sultry indolic nature of the flowers with its bitter accents, while increasingly audible civet notes begin to purr. The facets of dark Assam oud, which I perceive as sometimes brittle, sometimes soft, provide a supportive backbone, around which the floral vines entwine ever higher into the night sky, supported by Liquidambra (which, according to my research, should correspond more or less to Styrax), softening the angular animality of the robust leather notes with sweet balsamic warmth.
On his homepage, Antonio Lasheras, who says very few words about his fragrances and prefers to let them speak for themselves, describes BD as a “vintage floral fragrance” - and, yes, of course, that hits the nail on the head. If I had tested it blind, I would have definitely guessed it was a lost fragrance legend from the 1920s or 30s, but still, BD seems to be so much more. In its dark opulence and abyssal passion, the fragrance transcends mundane categories like time and space. BD hovers between worlds, between times, between souls, and feels incredibly close to me. There is a shocking honesty in the clear language of this fragrance and a physicality that takes no prisoners, which I no longer want to miss, even though I may not always have been equally equipped to handle it all.

Weightless in the Darkness

Floating weightlessly in the darkness, letting the head fall completely relaxed into gray clouds, being enchanted by animalistic hips carried by the almost silent, warm wind.

Watching the jasmine bloom at night, in peace, in the darkness.
Its humility allows it to glide gently at first, like black, tall waves that slowly, but dangerously, draw closer.
But pride soon follows.

Pupils dilated, blood rushing. The jasmine entangles more and more, creating a labyrinth full of emotions. Lovingly enveloped by a gentle spicy note, where animalistic underbrush connects with tar and resin. Slightly bitter at the heart, yet not particularly angered. The jasmine, bloodsucking, ignites a truly dark power. Profound, very expressive, and willful! A force like no other, especially for those who appreciate heavy jasmine, which here presents itself as absolutely harmonious, particularly regarding its connection with animalistic accents, while remaining distinctly gentle in the finish, with a touch of woody aftertaste.

A truly beautiful perfume that lets me float in the darkness. Longevity and sillage are high, and the whole experience is simply a delight for my senses.

With thanks to Rieke
