Marieposa

Faded flotsam
On wet sand
Between turmoil and silence
The burnt-out fire pit
.
Cinderella's phoenix feathers
To ashes
To dust

Bacchic honey drops
From lotus cups
Like red glowing saffron strands
Leather whispers
On blue velvet

A keyhole view
Of powder puffs
And raspberry-red lipstick
Curled hair at the nape
Dried violets
Between poems

Mint-cold, the frost
Lays on tree needles
Where the north wind
Paints resin stars and winter angels
In the cedar mist
Aurora borealis

My strawberry candy lips
Make you sweat iris butter pearls
"I enjoy looking like a tart
And thinking like a politician"
