Part 2: Sunnamusk - Night Illusion
By chance, Tiktok and a friend I (luckily) came across the Sunnamusk brand. It didn't mean anything to me before, but two drops of Soft Paradise Perfume Oil were enough to put me into "MUST HAVE" mode.
Well, then unfortunately there was another tempting offer on the website similar to three for the price of two and here we are: three fragrance oils richer, although I wanted one (I'm a real consumer victim when it comes to that).
The notes of Night Illusion just sounded promising to me in terms of the approaching summer or layering with Duchessa or something similar. The cherry vibe would be there according to the pyramid. Even though I believe that layering can work, the oil goes in a completely different direction.
Now that I have the small bottle, for me it's more of a Kirkè Extrait de Parfum or Confidential Private Gold vibe. Shaghaf Oud Ahmar Eau de Parfum also has more parallels here. The cherry is not a dark cherry at all.
For me, the fragrance goes in a fresh and fruity, yet quite sweet direction. I find raspberry to be one of the most present, closely followed by freesia, iris and musk. I can kind of understand the "synthetic" thing. Somehow the fragrance smells like a very good shampoo at times. But I don't find that obtrusive or negative. I personally really appreciate the fragrance as it is.
Sunnamusk produces some of the best oils for me so far. The website is beautifully designed and already gives a preview of how intense which oil is. So far, however, all the oils I have smelled are unbeatable in terms of price/performance, sillage and longevity, regardless of whether one should be more intense than the other. They all really hit the spot.
The packaging with glass pipette is also very successful and of high quality. All I can say about the dosage: 10 ml will probably last forever. I just have two(!) drops, almost droplets on my arm - that's enough to wrap me in a cloud of raspberry foam.
I'm curious to see how the long-term test will turn out. With hindsight, I'll probably make a "series" out of it. Let's see how that works out!
Thanks for reading :)
