Exotic fruits that bite hard
So, apparently, this fragrance is super divisive and there are three, equally numerous groups of people:
1 – OMG, this is heaven in a bottle, can’t get enough of it!
2 – Fruity, pleasant, nothing special...
3 – Please ban the use of this god-awful thing in public, it burns my sinuses and physically chokes me.
And I kinda see all of this. I feel the passionfruit the most, and a bit of pear and peach. I agree with the “fruity” and “tropical,” and it should be delightful, but I cannot say that I 100% enjoy it. Something about this one does sit at the back of my throat and deep in my sinuses like hairspray I carelessly inhaled while fixing my do. It’s like no matter how much I use, it’s always too much. It even tingles my tongue like when you eat too much pineapple. This sensation subsides within 4 hours, then it’s indeed soft and pleasant.
Despite seemingly inoffensive notes, it’s bold and commands attention – sometimes compliments, sometimes dirty looks. Two things are certain – you won’t confuse this with anything, and it’s a super unsafe blind-buy. Something about the mix of the notes in this makes a portion of the population physically uncomfortable – borderline allergic.
By the way, learned about this fragrance from a colleague who suffers every winter, when Kirke becomes popular where I live. She has a violent gaging reaction, and not only to the original Kirke, but to all sorts of imitations and dupes. This drives me to a conclusion that the cause is exactly the combination of notes, not specific ingredients that the Tiziana Terenzi house uses. Anyway, sample this before purchase!
