T12 I A citrusy, natural iris dream I Iris for the summer!
The Taif T12 by Taif Al-Emarat comes - as the name suggests - from the T-Collection, where some gold treasures are hidden. Since I sometimes have a hard time with iris, as it can quickly smell "old-fashioned" or like lipstick, I was all the more excited about the fragrance, as the iris as the main protagonist is supposed to be implemented differently here.
The fragrances by Taif Al-Emarat are not always easy to come by, which is why I have focused on those that the community and other reviewers have found to be really good, but that might also suit my taste.
Now to the fragrance and my perception:
- First spray of Taif T12 and JACKPOT! At the beginning you get a very special, ambery citric note. Very exciting, as it creates a beautiful contrast between lightness and warmth, revitalizing with a slight sweet-resinous warmth. Sicilian citrus, naturally fragrant on an ambery base; refreshingly sensual.
- This opening is very quickly complemented by a really beautiful, natural-smelling iris. You can tell that this is not a cheap accord, but really good quality. Together with the cedar wood, this creates a woody powderiness with a subtle earthiness, as the iris is really not simply "billo-like", but traditionally classic and of high quality. The exciting thing is that the citrus remains! You can really imagine that this citric goes far into the drydown; I know of few citric fragrances that can do this. In this respect, you keep the citrus from the opening and now blend it with this powdery, woody, slightly earthy iris note. The fragrance then becomes slightly creamier in the drydown, which comes from the sandalwood, but this citrus and iris duo remain present until the end.
- The performance is definitely in the top third, the fragrance radiates beautifully and lasts a really long time! You can't complain about the performance of this fragrance!
To summarize, the Taif T12 is definitely worth a test; especially for people who like natural iris and want to see a creative approach with citrus; almost an iris summer fragrance from my point of view! The Taif T12 combines classic iris with modern, citric twists!
... and yes, the bottle looks simply brilliant!
