The oud passion fruit killer? - Taif's Oriental take on the top seller
Taif al Emarat...
has so far convinced me with every other fragrance I have tested,
more and more convincing and here again
another masterpiece another masterpiece.
Taif convinces again and again with natural & high quality ingredients,
as well as various unique types of oud and here again incredibly realized.
The fragrance
opens Enormously sparkling
with a passion fruit note that is already reminiscent of
Citrus in terms of intensity.
The oud resonates immediately, as a tart woody undertone,
there is no trace of animalism here.
Intensely fruity throughout, but the oud remains in the background.
A hint of Dubai's oriental spice can be perceived between this noble interplay
to be perceived.
In the drydown, this becomes warmer and warmer, sweetness settles on blossoming leather, the amber and
the vanilla here, but the interplay of freshly cut passion fruit
and precious oriental woods, which creates a slight dysharmony,
but one can easily overlook this,
as it suits the edgier character of the fragrance.
This is also a big difference to Oud Maracujá
to go into a more precise comparison:
Right from the start, the two are different
Basically, since the passion fruit / passion fruit notes are fundamentally different,
as mentioned with the Taif T19 much more sparkling
and much more present and it is a little more harmoniously incorporated in the Oud Maracujá.
The oud in Taif T19 is truly unique
and seems almost untamed,
although, as we know, the Oud Maracujá is unfortunately not a real oud,
it is rather leathery and aromatic, which is in no way inferior to the fragrance,
Well... except for the price/performance ratio.
There is no animalic quality to either of them,
which I could well imagine even with the Taif T19.
The Taif T19 is basically a bit wilder and much more natural,
it should also be mentioned that the Taif T19 also offers an incredible
Sillage, although the Oud Maracujá still has the edge in this respect.
However, the Oud Maracujá cannot keep up in terms of price/performance,
you get much more for your money at Taif.
The packaging is classic, yet elegant,
but the bottles from Taif are among the finest that Nische has to offer and the color... Just harmonizes incredibly well with the fragrance.
( Taif al Emarat existed before Boadicea, so we can't talk about a copy here either)
However, I suspect the inspiration for the flacons was basically
rather with "Original Eau de Cologne | Johann Maria Farina opposite Jülichs-Platz" in the 15ml bottles.
If you have the opportunity, this one is more than worth testing!
