Nordic Sea Breeze
When I'm sniffing Brise Marine, the immediate vision that forms clearly in my head is a Nordic forest on the coast of the northest parts of the Baltic Sea. Even though there's nothing salty mentioned in the note pyramid, to my nose this fragrance is definitely salty-marine but in the Baltic Sea air kind of way. As you most likely already know, the water of the Baltic Sea isn't very salty, it's brackish water, so the sea air here on the Nordic coasts is different kind of salty, the smell of salt is mixed with green facets of seaweed, birch and conifers. And that's exactly how Brise Marine smells like to me.
Brise Marine is woody in a very natural way and thus some of its undertones remind me of Guardian Of The Forest. Also somehow the mixture of bergamot, lily of the valley and woody-green-mossy-metallic notes reminds me of the final drydown of the original formulation of Comme une Evidence L'Eau de Parfum. Overally these two fragrances are very different of course but they definitely share accords and also the similar peaceful feeling of tranquility, the calming effect of a beach walk and the sound of the waves.
Brise Marine is a brilliant blend so true to its name - not the most traditional marine breeze but it for sure is the most familiar marine breeze to a Nordic girl like me, and I enjoy it so much that Terres Dorées was able to capture my beautiful aquatic scent memory so accurately.
