Delightful Unapologetic Citrus
The idea of Terres Dorées Origine series, created by Louis Cardelli, was to make three EDTs inspired by the origins of modern perfume: eau de colognes. Origines perfumes are a modern and a bit more complex take to traditional cologne smells. Citron d'Italie is definitely the freshest and sharpest one of the three, and I find it so delightful and spreading very cheerful vibes. Perfect for hot weather to cool you down and refresh, but also a great mood booster for the cold dark season due to its quality that reminds me of uplifting citrus essential oils. It opens with a blast of perfect realistic freshly squeezed lemon smell with a subtle surprising spicy warm touch of cloves in the background. The drydown is a wonderful blend of different citruses with a hint of moss and musk. Simple and easy to wear but still with an interesting twist. On me the sillage is first moderate and after a couple of hours quite close to skin, and the lasting power is 6 to 7 hours. I'm a great fan of unapologetic citrus fragrances so this one is definitely one of my top favourites from Maison Terres Dorées.
