Heavenly World in Paradise
No comment yet on this wonderful scent?! Even though it is no longer available for purchase, I have to make up for that...
My sister gifted me this perfume many years ago. Back then, the Body Shop had all sorts of things related to Ananya, which she bought for me, like clay fragrance stones that scented my dresser for years, a little pouch, a perfume pen...
The timing of the gift is what makes it special for me - I had just left behind the dark and difficult years (at least that’s how it felt) of my adolescence, and life was back in order. Everything was bright, warm, and colorful again, and this special sense of new beginnings filled the air of my world. Everything was possible, and everything seemed so simple...
And that’s exactly how Ananya still smells to me today. I was lucky enough to snag a bottle of the reissue with 15 ml of perfume oil, which I hope will last me until the end of my life, and every time I open it, that feeling comes rushing back.
The Ylang-Ylang and tuberose are very dominant, but not too heavy or piercing, and then comes the warm skin for me. Strange that this isn’t listed in the fragrance pyramid :-)
Then there’s a hint of musk like in White Musk, some warm sandalwood, rather than bergamot it’s more like orange blossom, but I can’t pick out the other components, maybe they are simply overwhelmed... Perhaps the perfume oil I’m currently sniffing just doesn’t have a top note due to its oiliness...
Despite everything, it is difficult to wear as a perfume; it simply overwhelms you, the longevity is incredible, and on bad days, it can give you a headache. But when applied sparingly, it lifts your spirits and gives you incredible strength. And you will definitely be approached about it!
Maybe it will be reissued again; if so, you should definitely give it a try!
