Sugared Anise
So…
Today I’m describing the fragrance Inside Out. Yes, I know you probably know (at least I think so) that I can sometimes be quite childish, as I also like animated films, but I’m not referring to the (possibly great, I don’t know it (yet)…) movie “Inside Out,” which has the German title “Alles steht Kopf,” but rather to the fragrance here from the brand The Gate :D
Let’s start sniffing!
Because soon you can also smell the anise, which I personally find somewhat inappropriate and even disturbing in this fragrance. Additionally, there are general floral notes that I can hardly categorize, as they all smell so mixed.
Later on, the fragrance hardly changes anymore. You smell sweet and slightly powdery vanilla or vanilla ice cream with the previously described gourmand notes, the flowers (which become a bit weaker in the base), and also the anise, which fortunately loses its intensity over time but still remains detectable for a while, which I think disturbs the fragrance a bit.
The longevity is enormous, as the fragrance can easily last all day. Sprayed on in the afternoon or evening, you can still faintly smell it the next morning.
Hmm,… Inside Out has become a really nice, sugary gourmand with herbal and floral notes, reminiscent at first of fragrances like La petite Robe Noir and such. It belongs to the type of fragrances where I usually write that women must particularly shine with them (yes, yes, alright, you know the expression about munching… uh, I mean biting! :DD).
I therefore find the fragrance significantly more feminine than unisex.
Aaaaaaaaaaber:
If it weren’t for the anise, which you sometimes perceive more strongly, but fortunately also sometimes more weakly, I would have given the fragrance a higher rating, as I find that anise is generally a rather acquired taste and personally doesn’t appeal to me that much, which is why I said it disturbs the fragrance.
But that shouldn’t stop you from testing the fragrance. As I said, it doesn’t smell bad in itself and is particularly suitable for carefree partying due to its strong sillage and long-lasting nature :D And if the anise doesn’t bother you either, then you’ll surely like the fragrance even more than I do!
Go test it… :D

Let’s start sniffing!
The Fragrance:
The first moment starts indefinably, but then the fragrance really takes off. It begins with mandarins that are a bit weak, along with basil, passion fruit, and vanilla. I also smell something quite gourmand-sweet, but I can’t quite place it. It has a fairground-like sugary quality and smells great, at first… Because soon you can also smell the anise, which I personally find somewhat inappropriate and even disturbing in this fragrance. The Sillage and Longevity:
The sillage is quite intense even with a small spray and can be perceived from a distance, so you can say that this fragrance is indeed quite room-filling. You can easily overdo it if you’re not careful. The longevity is enormous, as the fragrance can easily last all day. Sprayed on in the afternoon or evening, you can still faintly smell it the next morning.
The Bottle:
The bottle is cylindrical and has a golden sheen. On the front, there is a golden label with the name and logo. The cap is also cylindrical, black, and features the brand's logo on the top. I don’t find the bottle particularly spectacular.
