This needs to be said
I dedicated a statement to this fragrance yesterday. Quote: Misleading name: no dark forest approaches you, but rather a wonderfully fresh, unsweetened bergamot vanilla combination. Top the line......

Since I wore this fragrance throughout the entire evening, and it developed beautifully, quite differently than the opening suggested, I think it is worth reporting a bit more extensively about it.
The scent impressions described in the statement lasted as a top note for about 3 hours with a wonderful sillage, not too much and not too little. In the evening, components joined in that added some sharpness to the soft vanilla. I think this drift of the fragrance into sweetness was skillfully countered. Is it the listed ginger???? In any case, this development is really well received. From the wonderfully fresh vanilla top note described at the beginning, it now becomes a somewhat rougher fragrance candidate, which now also reveals distinctive traits. From this fragrance phase, I would say the masculine absolutely dominates...... The fragrance has now reached its goal after its transformation and indeed evokes associations with a dark forest, without the wood components playing a role. Rather, it is the dark, rough, mystical aspect that symbolically represents Dark Forest.

A fragrance that starts extraordinarily, ends wonderfully, stands out from the crowd, and emphasizes the individuality of its wearer without dominating the spotlight... I like that.

I am not only enthusiastic about the fragrance, 100ml for €45 for a truly recommendable scent presentation with super sillage and a longevity beyond 10 hours... It hardly gets better than this.......

Is the Pyramid a Fake?
Here I participated in the sharing because of the title, as I like "woody" scents.
Like Fischlandman, I find the title misleading. However, the pyramid is also misleading, as it suggested a completely different scent. Both are not a problem for me, as you can see from my rating.

So, based on the pyramid, I would have expected a rather light, citrus-fresh scent, possibly with a bit of sweetness from the vanilla. But I can't recognize anything from the mentioned notes! When I opened the sample to sniff, a little stuck to my finger... and my first thought was: I had something like this just recently! A look at the fragrance twins (Black Afghano!) led me to the solution: "Terroni"! I had just written a comment about this a few days ago. With "Dark Forest," I also have a woody, heavy, warm, intense scent in front of me, which fits well into the family of the black Afghan and its brothers and cousins (to which I also count "Terroni"). I would also suspect Oud in it, but I'm no expert. In any case, the pyramid does not fit at all from my perspective.

Forest scent? Well, if you define that as "woody," it fits, but for me personally, green, resinous, or coniferous notes are missing for such a title. But as I said - it doesn't bother me, because with the sample of "Dark Forest," I still got a nice scent for late autumn!

Night Forest
Frankincense, greenish with bergamot, no cozy, distinct coniferous wood. A hint of a dark forest, flat and broad. Dark wood from the bog. And from the log pond in the sawmill. Splash. Nothing towards a fir forest. You are now in the midst of curiosity.
.
Herbs? Sage? Mildly scratchy vetiver? Earthy ground green gives a delicate animalic touch. With mild smoke. But no smoldering from a dying campfire. Oud soaked softly with vanilla. Like some forest. And that remains.
.
For me, it is then night. Night like ginger-neroli-sweet sticky resin, when you absolutely want to incorporate the pyramid. (A fake??)
.
But overall, a well-wearable scent.
.
Then you just wear fake. 8.0

Mysticism in the Woods
Foggy patches wander about, and only pale and weak does the full moon cast its light into the darkness.
High, gnarled, and ancient are the trees that stand beyond a clearing.
It seems they have always been there. Even my grandmother, and her mother and grandmother knew them.
And in the village where they came from, eerie stories were told about this forest. It is said that the "night owls" reside there, taking every child who does not want to go home before dusk in autumn to the fog moon......
Chilling, isn't it?
But it is just a village tale, and some children still have "respect" for this piece of forest today.
Yet if only ONE THING in this story is true, it is the age of these trees and the twilight they spread even during the day.
And it is mystical, and just as mystical are the scents that are native there.
And this is what the bottle, or rather its contents, that I am currently testing reminds me of.
A nearly "vanilla-like" yet bitter "pine" scent that follows a certain herbal-spicy sharpness.
A kind of double fragrance with resonance, simultaneously layered over and under each other.
No lingering in one spot, but "wandering" scent molecules moving up and down, north and south, east and west.
Yet they always return, even if only briefly, to their "home base," if such a thing exists.
Or like the fog that makes its rounds before the autumn sun licks it away, only to return in the evening.
To coax their scent from the ancient trees, making the forest a mystical place.

Something's wrong with my nose...
I somehow don't understand the discrepancy between what I smell and this fragrance pyramid. I can clearly smell patchouli and something resinous. I can still detect the vanilla, but the rest like bergamot, ginger, and neroli... where are you??? Is it the combination of these individual notes that creates a completely different scent impression? If so, then that's pretty genius! The name "Dark Forest" is a perfect fit for this fragrance. I stand in a dark, damp forest. It's full of moss, and only a few patches of light reach the ground. Somewhere, a spruce has fallen in a storm, and the resinous vapors surround me. A slight sweetness joins in. For me, it's a scent for unwinding and dreaming.

Dark Forest is earthy, resinous, smoky oud and cloying vanilla, but the blend feels synthetic, lacking quality craftsmanship.

Frankincense rises from dried berries among the dark woods.
