Charming Scoundrel
I have such a weakness for this very specific dark-academia-by-way-of-an-archaeologist scent profile. I own full bottles of Book of Shadows and Bed of Books, and you'd think that would be enough but here I am with yet another sample smeared on my arm.
On the surface it has a lot in common with Book of Shadows, but it's very much its own fragrance. Raw brown leather dominates, along with dusty paper and ink with a metallic bite.
Book of Shadows is a codex hidden deep in fantasy catacombs, with the faintest brush of incense on the air; The Journal is an adventurer's battered, slightly grubby diary pulled from a saddlebag.
Book of Shadows is slightly more academic, an archaeologist who moonlights at Marshall College; The Journal is rough and tumble and gives you a cocky grin right before getting into a tavern brawl that they'll indignantly deny starting later on.
I don't know about you, but there's room for both in my world. ;)
Projection and longevity are on the high end of moderate for a perfume oil. Gender is charismatic rogue.
