The good Erba Pura

A bit of backstory first. Erba gold was released first in 2016 in Limited Quantities exclusive on Xerjoffs Website and their flagship store.

In 2023 Xerjoff decided to change the V Line. Which was the velvet line beforehand. The new Vibe line got launched with a full release of Erba Gold in 2023 for the very first time. The Velvet line was called like that since all the bottles had a layer of velvet around. There were a lot of issues when the fragrance itself got on the velvet that it got damaged and you get spots of glass underneath which looked awful.

So now to the fragrence itself. The main difference what you might wanna ask is. What is the difference between Erba Gold and Erba Pura.

From a note standpoint both are quite similar. We have a lot of fruit paired with some warm notes like vanilla in the base. (More to the notes in detail later)

Erba Gold in personal opinion is a more refined smoothened out version of Erba Pura. Erba Pura often is described as a piercing, very heavy and extremely sweet scent which some people turn off form the fragrance. For me I had the same problem with erba Pura as well hence I never bought it.

Erba Gold smoothenes out the the piercing elements and makes this truly pleasant scent.

Packaging: Erba Gold being the launch scent of the vibe line gets a completely overhauled packing compared to the old V Line. We have a Yellow / Gold outer sleeve which the Xerjoff Logo in which inside we find the classic Xerjoff Trunk. It's a new version which is made out of White Cardboard instead of normal one which is made out of Reddish Fake Leather. We also don't get the fake leather insert for this one the insert is made out of clear plastic which I don't really mind.
What is new tho we find a silk handkerchief underneath the plastic insert where the bottles reside in. Those are hand made for Xerjoff by a manufacturer at Lake Como. 9/10

Bottle: The new bottles are really good. The color looks like it was painted by a paint shop that does work for highly expensive cars. Like a Ferrari. It kinda reminds me of the Ferrari Giallo Triplo Strato. (Without the metallic in the color ofc) 9/10

Headnotes: The headnotes contain Ginger, Calabrian bergamotte, Amalfi Lemon and Brazilian Orange. I personally don't get much of the citrus notes in the opening. This a scent that for me starts more with the heartnotes. 6.5/10

The heartnotes: now this is where this scent truly shines. We find here green apple, Melon, Pear, Clove, Guatemalan Cardamom, and Madagascar Cinnamon. I get a bunch of the apple and especially the Melon. For me it's more like a honeydew melon compared to a watermelon which bring a lot of freshness into the scent the apple smoothens out the entire thing together with the pear. From the more spicy notes I got most of it from the cinnamon which brings a slight difference in the mix. Broken down in one sentence. The Heartnotes smell like a high quality fruits basket. And I love that. 10/10

Basenotes: the basenotes are quite basic. We have white musk, amber, Bourbon Vanilla and Woods (dunno which woods lmao) they take quite a while to come out but it fits the fragrence really well. 7/10

Wearability: This is a scent for spring and summer mainly. Daytime and evening both works although this shows it's full potential on a beautiful summer evening. But if you want you can also wear it more on a daily basis compared to Erba Pura. 9/10

Longevity and Sillage: This one as all Xerjoff Scents has extremely good quality and that shows in the longevity and the Sillage. This easily holds up to 8 hours on my skin and it's Sillage is medium to loud so you get noticed when wearing it. 9/10

Pricing: Prices are always a hot topic. The fragrance retails for 195€ in the 50 ml bottle and 310€ for 100 ml. Quite expensive but imo worth the price for the quality you get. But as always with Nische scents try first. Although you would probably be safe with blind buying.
