Hyped
I got my nose on this yesterday, after having seen it get hyped a bit by Youtubers.

I'll describe without looking at the listed notes: On me (and my friend who purchased the bottle), this initially comes across as a slightly sweet floral woody scent, with a reasonably prominent pepper up front.

After the initial notes settle, a vanillic ambery quality comes through. This is how it remained on our skin, a gentle slightly woody vanilla amber.

The fragrance became a skin scent after around 1 hour, and was very hard to detect after around 4-5 hours. This was not anosmia, as we saw friends who all commented they either didn't think we were wearing fragrance, or could 'hardly smell it' - this was at the 6 hour mark.

Overall, a nice fragrance but nothing groundbreaking. I liked it, despite the longevity and projection being moderate. I mention that not as a complaint, but suggestion to those looking for a longevity/projection bomb sample on their skin first.

Lovely woody spicy resinous, artistic and naturally sourced, fairly unique
First try of the latest Zaharoff release, Basileus Precious Treasure, a spicy, woody, resinous blend that’s also very smooth and unsurprisingly sophisticated. Peppers and cardamom give way to florals, tonka, oakmoss, vanilla bourbon, an array of woods, and olibanum. The sourcing is really fascinating, too, as, with a number of the house’s fragrances, the ingredients come from all over the world, and that collaboration is felt in the fragrance’s layered and deep appeal.

That said, it’s not among the very strongest scents on skin in the house, for sure, a distant cry from Signature Leather Tabac (as is pretty much everything) and perhaps not even in the next rung down, but I love the scent. I would probably deploy it in similar occasions to Evening Mystique, given their common spicy/floral/resinous/semi-fresh categorizations, and I dare say that the two fragrances could be thought of as distant cousins, even if they’re quite different. For me, the standouts in Basileus Precious Treasure are ebony wood, oakmoss, olibanum, jasmine, and pepper.

Its pricing ($295 for 120ml) is a departure from the norm ($195 for 120ml) but is really quite reasonable in the current market, at under $2.5 / ml, undoubtedly due to the cost of the diverse and widely-sourced ingredients, but the bottle is also quite different from the catalogue’s predecessors.

Overall, I love it, and frankly want to compare it to Evening Mystique to see what the side-by-side reveals about each.

Superbly unique
This fragrance is so hard to quantify. Everything about is has an air of mystery.

The hand made wooden treasure chest ( limited first 500 bottles ) is just incredible. As is the story associated with it.

The bottle is a beautiful black with gold script, quite a step away from the usual Zaharoff look but as with all Zaharoff bottles stunning.

Now the bit you have all be waiting on, how does it smell ?

This is the hardest part, exquisite, mysterious, unique, you own nothing like this!

Think of going to a Cathedral, the beeswax used on the beautiful old wood, some lingering incense. The smell is just all around you, warm inviting.

The scent does not seem to be coming from you, it’s almost like someone else is wearing it in the room. It’s hard to describe, in fact everything about this is hard to describe. It’s nowhere but everywhere, is soft but strong. You think it’s gone and boom it’s back in full effect.

This is pretty special. I feel honoured to own it.

Wow beautiful
Precious Treasure is indeed precious!

Beautiful fragrance. The quality in the oils is very noticeable as it’s a fragrance that will last 12 plus hours. Just when you think it’s gone it’s punches you in the face(in a nice way) the cardamon in this fragrance is very unique. I would safely say you can wear this Fragrance any time but I think is more of a summer vibe, to me at least.

A discovery! A unique grounding scent that has an underlying dusty/musty reminder of the Bushman candle & adoration of the women involved. Masterpiece

Hate this based on a 3ml sample. Too much going on, too strong, too sweet; headache-inducing. Have 4 Zaharoff bottles, not adding this one.

Zaharia does it again - a potent mess. This house has no finesse

Spicy start, and pretty quickly a sweet vanilla comes through for my nose, intertwined with wood. The rest hardly plays a role.

Surrounded by bright incense, softly peppered, friendly cedar, where large vanilla pods grow.
