Nice perfume but not exactly what I expected
Anytime there's a Sweet accord, I worry a fragrance might be too sweet. Turned out not to be the case here. The sweetness in Tabac is just enough to take any harshness out of the fragrance. Pretty nice fragrance with good longevity and moderate sillage. Zaharoff's Leather Tabac on the other hand, is much drier - no sweetness at all making it a more challenging fragrance. If you're a guy who usually likes sweeter fragrances, you might like Tabac but would probably have trouble with Leather Tabac. While Tabac is masculine, Leather Tabac is over the top masculine.

While I found Tabac nice, I kept on thinking about tobacco, vanilla and spices - how could each be tweaked so I'd like it even better? It then struck me - what I really was looking for was Spicebomb Extreme. I've not worn it for at least 4 months, so did a test spray. Sure enough. I'm not saying Tabac is a Spicebomb Extreme wanna be. What I am saying is that if I were in the mood to wear Tabac, I'd rather reach for Spicebomb Extreme. I won't be adding Tabac to my shopping list.

a tobacco in perfect harmony with the other notes
I have only tested two fragrances of this wonderful brand to date but I can say that I found innate class and sensuality to be distinctive.
In Signature Tabac I perceived a tobacco in perfect harmony with the other notes, which is soft, realistic, imposing and lifted by boozy notes that make it truly captivating.
I would call it the fragrance I would love to smell on a man, with a great sillage, distinctive but above all extremely attractive.
In all its personality, however, it retains elegance, in short in my opinion it is perfect.
Obviously more masculine in my opinion, but on a woman it gives a lot of personality.
Gorgeous.
I quote one of my favourite films, because it is the perfect perfume I would see on Don Vito Corleone in The Godfather.

Creative, balanced, "easy: tobacco that's nonetheless rewarding
Zaharoff Signature Tabac is the house’s latest release following the rousing success of the Zed creators’ trio and Signature Rose. It’s a nice tobacco leaf with subtly sharp and sweet hints, not smoky or ashy. The tobacco is not overpowering and instead cedes some ground to some of the other accords like lavender, various resins, sandalwood, plum, rum, and cognac.

As with Signature Rose, it just feels like a very carefully thought-out and well-executed blend, expertly put together. It walks the tightrope between the sweet and the sharp, not being too heady or syrupy, sort of maintaining and understated persona. Like Signature Rose to rose fragrances, Signature Tabac offers familiar aspects of tobacco fragrances but in a newly balanced sort of way. I think Signature Rose is more of an achievement in this respect, but Signature Tabac should have similarly broad appeal. I quite like it, and as a fan of both rose and tobacco, I’m a fan of George’s take on both notes/concepts.

Signature Tabac is priced at $140 for 60ml, similar to Signature Rose ($145), and is a manageable price between $2 and $3 per ml. Its performance is moderate on my skin, so it’s not likely to overwhelm. After a brief period of projection, it stays pretty close to the skin, but that seems fitting for its plausibility as a signature scent or “all the time” scent that nonetheless feels special and refined.

Overall, I dig it even if I’m not as smitten as with Signature Rose or some of the house’s other releases. It’s undoubtedly a great take on tobacco to have in one’s arsenal and something I would recommend that everyone try, even non-tobacco fans, as the tobacco in it is not overwhelming.

Charming fragrance for a dignified gentleman
It took me a few wears to really appreciate this one. I love darker perfumes, I love tobacco fragrances. I thought this was going to be a home run after reading about it. I got a 5ml decant, I do like it quite a bit, but this definitely isn't what I was expecting. I would characterize this as a soft green tobacco, sweet hay and cedar fragrance. Not overly complex, but beautiful and high quality. I was expecting a deep dark tobacco fragrance, something in the realm of Laudano Nero, this is far from that.

It opens with an accord of sweet honey, a dustiness, and dry green tobacco, as it dries down into the middle, it becomes mildly boozy, a faint incense can be detected, and it becomes somewhat earthy. In the final stages it becomes sweeter on my skin (but most fragrances do, so I will chalk that up to skin chemistry). It honestly smells like fresh cut sweet hay, if I were to over simplify it. There is a lot of subtle nuance to it. It plays similarly to something like Kilian Old Fashioned, while not nearly as sweet, it shares a similar scent profile, richness and discretion and is the closest fragrance I can think of as a comparison.

Longevity is pretty good at over 9 hours, projection is mild. This is best suited to Fall, Winter, and date nights.

This smells like a fall/winter scent for a 55 year old intelligent semi-introverted scientist, with 3 kids, that exercises regularly, still loves his wife of 30 years, has a great sense of humor but uses it with restraint. It's smart, classy, well blended, polished, but also somewhat subtle and subdued.

84/100

Interesting perfumery - just not for me (yet).
A smokey sauna with honey and vanilla syrup spilled on the floor.

Something here smells slightly of sesame and/or oats. Maybe a combination of amber, anise, oud, and/or woods. It's a bit funky to my nose in a way I don't love, but it's intriguing regardless. This is a more mature smell with a playful and unique twist. I could see myself enjoying this later in life.

Smells kind of dated to me. It's a solid pipe tobacco scent, high performer, just barely misses the mark for me.

Tobacco note is weak.

Weak scent fades away quick.

Honey/tobacco, on a vanilla base. It reminds me a mix between Tobacco Vanille and Red Tobacco, but taking the best from them. Gorgeous!

Comforting, masculine pipe tobacco, sweetened with honey & Tonka, smoothed out by myrrh and incense. Great for a night out with the guys
