A beautiful rose
For centuries, the fathers of Mount Athos produced incense using mainly flower petals and resins, crushed in a mortar.
The result was a dark paste, which was placed in a pot to dry and then smashed into small pieces and then burnt at large feasts and celebrations.
That is where this fragrance comes from.
Signature Rose is a marvellous spring rose, fresh in essence as the brand claims, accompanied by a drydown that brings out incensed notes that envelop the whole, making it almost sacral.
A realistic fragrance, a must for lovers of this flower.
Very elegant and with a very high performance.

A really well-crafted rose fragrance!
In the opening, the rose stands out immediately, specifically Bulgarian rose (Rose Otto®), which is not sharp but rather very delicate..
Right after, vanilla, sugar, and amber come in, further softening it and making the fragrance creamy and sweet.
In the background, you can also slightly smell some myrrh and incense, which give a unique touch to the fragrance that otherwise would be too flat.
The incense is there, but it's so well balanced that it doesn't feel overpowering or "church-like."
I agree that they have worked with repeated tests to achieve this result.. it seems like there's a lot of effort behind this fragrance.
The performance also is good, after spraying a couple of sprays in the evening, I could still smell it the next morning (obviously as a skin scent).
The only issue is that the brand it's hard to find here in Italy, since it's based in the USA, but they are planning to expand their market on Europe.
Great discovery!

The best rose fragrance on the market
As someone who has never been a big fan of rose-based fragrances which often came soapy, too feminine for my taste, or bland, the expectations of getting Zaharoff Signature Rose were mixed.

I’m pleased to report that with this release, my view on rose forward perfumes has shifted 360 degrees. With utter doubt about whether would I like it, I waited for the fragrance to arrive.

TOP NOTES
Signature Rose opens up a photorealistic combination of Turkish and Bulgarian rose, and it blows me away each time I wear it. I just cannot believe how well blended this fragrance is.

The rich rose combination smells not only of rose flowers, but you can clearly smell the whole plant. The citric undertones uplift the fragrance and give it a full-bodied experience.

HEART NOTES
After the initial opening which lasts around fifteen or so minutes, we are welcomed to the bouquet of jasmine and peony flowers along with that powerful rose that keeps on going and tingling your olfactive senses.

Don’t be afraid if you are not used to florals. All of these notes and accords are expertly combined and the underlying sugar cane sweetness from base notes probably comes from a combination of saffron and ambroxan not mentioned in the official note listing.

BASE NOTES
When the fragrance dries down, it becomes obvious that this is a child and a flanker of the original Signature Pour Homme.

It is not that hard to notice the ambery, incense base we loved in that first release. The frankincense gives hints of smoke, amber rounds it up with a touch of vanillic powderiness, and sandalwood amps up the flowery creaminess.

Beautifully blended, robust, rose/rosé resinous fragrance
This is my first try of the most recent release from Zaharoff, Signature Rosé (and pardon me if I leave off the accent subsequently), the fourth incarnation of the Zaharoff Signature DNA, with the original as the base and inspiration, and, as its name suggests, pivoting toward a rose-intense experience that’s also evocative of the rosé beverage.

It’s pretty remarkable from the onset, and I rather quickly get several intersecting types of rose fragrances that I’ve experienced before—the jammy/syrupy rose, the incense/resinous rose, the fresh rose—and robust inclusion of aldehydes that creates some effervescence ala a sparkling rosé wine. It’s very well-blended in that the rose aspects do not come off sharp, and no particular characterization (jammy, fresh, resinous) seems to stand out too much.

Also, it’s clearly dense but does not feel overpowering, great performance with being too overloaded in any particular aspect. It feels like the result of a long, patiently-approached process of blending several roses. Beyond the roses (Turkish and Bulgarian), there are resins (amber, myrrh, oud, olibanum), mostly, along with sugarcane, vanilla, and sandalwood. In this respect, it feels like a pretty straightforward note breakdown but the execution is simply excellent, not surprising in that in comes from Zaharoff, but still a bit remarkable in that few rose fragrances seem this balanced. The rose notes themselves aren’t overwhelming (even with rose being the dominant aspect of the rose) that it’s so bluntly a rose fragrance; even the typically rose-averse may greatly enjoy this due the resins and effective blending of the roses with the resins.

Again, it performs very well, and is priced in a similar range to the rest of the collection, at $145 for 60ml via the Zaharoff website.

Overall, it’s really a superb fragrance, period, and is a wonderful rose offering that generously provides a blended rose (and rosé aspect) for those of us that really enjoy rose.

I’d certainly recommend that everyone check this out!

The best barbershop-style rose — spicy, ambery, approachable. A great rose for the rose-shy frag lover.

My gardener must have removed all the roses
with the greenery. What a shame.
Out of frustration, I used Delina la Rosee

I kneel before this thornless rose! What a great, strong, powdered grape sugar scent that’s also not sweet! Definitely unisex.
