Sticky Sweet Treats
The literal sense of being a kid in a candy store, a visit to handmade artisan candies store in Barcelona worth the trip. Candies galore line the walls in bright colors and various shapes and sizes, full of colorful lollipops, chocolates, candy drops, soft gummy "bubbles," and more. And I like absolutely everything: their taste, their shapes, and colors, their packaging, their graphics, their everything. Thus, if you fancy something sweet, there's one place you have to visit in Barcelona: Papabubble.
ZARA Caramelos Artesanos is the atmosphere you breathe entering a store candy, and what is more straightforward than candy to make a child happy. Well, in this case, an adult! So, when I discovered this gem on Zara store's shelves, at a ridiculous price, my eyes widened. It was during an afternoon walk during the sales, to overcome an exhausting day so long and tedious, I decided to go to what never fails: the fragrances. It was a dream that became candies. Nobody can resist in front of such a distinctive scent, so dive into this sea of sweetness!
From the moment that the blend of rich and floriental notes of Caramelos Artesanos hit my nose, I've fallen in love. At first spray, it is very fruity, and a bit tangy, almost like freshly crushed berries drown in citrus juice and reminds me of hard candy and bubblegum. The distinct raspberry note stands out the most, akin to a French freshly made raspberry macaron. It is immediately noticeable at the first smell, really unmistakable, and shows off its expressiveness. Lovely, perhaps the sweetest cologne I have got in my collection, however not cloyingly sweet, which is probably not for anyone who gets headaches from perfumes easily. However, it mellows down quickly and turns into soft vanillic jasmine by about 2 hours. To me, the scent turns around the three notes mentioned here on Parfumo, namely raspberry, peony, and sandalwood, but there is much more in there, I also clearly take floral notes of jasmine in the heart and a kind of white musk to the base.
The heart pops with a warm, floral, and rosy peony, and a more dominant intoxicating, exotic, and intense jasmine. Jasmine is the ancient smell of calm, healing, aphrodisiac, the raw beauty of the night. Do you know that the jasmine flower opens only after sunset when the sun sets and the temperature drops? The small white flowers look like the stars painted on the ceilings of the pharaohs' tombs. Jasmine's name is Persian and means "a gift from God." The Persians, the Greeks, and the Egyptians knew all that had healing properties. The jasmine power is as durable as rare. The real jasmine notes are slightly sweet, delicately savory, heady, and powerful. Widely recognized as a symbol of love and beauty, promotes intimacy, prosperity, jasmine has long been known as the king of flowers. I am pretty sure that all the jasmine lovers won't dislike this jewel.
When the floral nuance calms down, it's a skin-only scent at this point, but it's gentle and cozy, helpful for a lazy day at home. This part is my favorite. While the fruity berries still linger in the background, creamy notes of sandalwood and more mossy tones of white mask reveal in all their beauty. It is not a damp and musky scent like Alyssia Ashley Musk, yet something more velvety thanks to more than a touch of candied vanilla.
There's no suffocating quality here, and this is a dainty and fresh gourmand. It's like an angel food cake, light and fluffy, with fresh raspberries and a small scoop of vanilla bean ice cream on the side. Caramelos Artesanos is a playful, cheerful, genuinely youthful scent. It is a clean scent great for Spring, Summer, and daytime wear. When you first spray it on, you smell the sweet notes, and as it dries down, it becomes more of a soft, fresh floral scent—a good perfume for those that like delicate sweet floral perfumes which are not overpowering. Also, the perfume sillage is smooth, and the scent duration is moderate. I enjoyed the scent of the Caramelos Artesanos.
Stay well; stay healthy.
