When "Baby Cats" Sip Coffee
As a confessed coffee scent junkie, I recently took Amber Affogato home on a test strip and sniffed it for days, and one thing was clear: I had to wear it for a day at the next opportunity!
Now the time had come. I sprayed it on and was immediately thrilled, to the point that in my state of euphoria I almost threw my good intention of "testing scents on myself first" out the window.
I finally managed to regain my composure just before I could head to the checkout and forced myself to leave the Zara store for now with empty hands but a clear conscience. (Okay, it was my husband who dragged me out of the store...)
Wrapped in an intense cloud of coffee scent embedded in sweet amber and vanilla notes, I strolled through the city center, repeatedly delightedly sniffing at my sweater and almost ran back to Zara.
For the first two hours, Amber Affogato maintained that wonderful warming coffee scent. But then it gradually changed.
The coffee note that I loved so much began to weaken, and another note pushed itself to the forefront, which I had missed on the test strip. Amber Affogato became increasingly synthetic and reminded me more and more of a familiar but not-so-beloved creation: Babycat ...
... Great, now the baby cat had slurped away my coffee.
Good thing I had stayed true to my intention. (Which actually means: Thanks to my dear husband)
I admit: Once the piercing, synthetic note that reminded me of plastic had faded and the scent began to show a more vanilla-powdery character, I started to like it again. But why suffer and buy a love-hate relationship?
Anyone who likes "Babycat | Yves Saint Laurent," "Rifaaqat / رفاقات | Paris Corner," and the like, and wants a bit of coffee served alongside, will be fully satisfied here. But I'm out XD
