From earthy roots, fine powders, and...
.....green citrus woods. In a fragrance that many might underestimate.
Well, Zara is certainly not one of the expensive brands, but it can definitely hold its own against some fragrances.
In this Intense Vetiver, the lightly earthy-scented roots of a sweet grass take center stage. In their finest form. A melange of dark and light, coarse and fine results in an exquisite "Rèunion-Vetiver" scent. At times it feels like a dense, moist cloud, at other times like fine, green sparkling powder. Underlined by light brown-spicy tones that may possibly be due to cinnamon. My nose can quite certainly detect that, even if it’s not listed in the above ingredients!
A certain tension in the perfume is created by contrasts that are neither purely present in the top note nor in the heart of the fragrance or in the "foundation." Fresh and green citrus and dark veined woods run throughout, making the beautiful, chypre-like scent even more interesting and at times resembling a cloak of mossy aromas.
To my nose, this Zara Vetiver is quite different from "Grey Vetiver (Eau de Parfum) | Tom Ford," as the latter is much more gnarly and darker. And it does not have the balanced bitter-sweetness that Zara possesses. In comparison: Ford is a true "forest creature," Zara a "nature elf." Both are very beautiful, but also quite different!
