Y Collection Zara 2017

It’s back in my store in Stockholm, but only in travel size 20ml, so I got 4 of it for €5 each. This one for me is just as satisfying as current LA Nuit de L’homme, so I just go with this one instead of another bottle of YsL. It actually is a damn close clone to my nose! One of Zara’s best ones for sure.

Very Similar (90%) to La Nuit. Gets more similar in the drydown (95%). I get about 7 hours with this. I would say it has moderate projection. I picked this up for 7 euro in the sales. It's discontinued now but I'm certain it will make a comeback in one form or another in the future. Good value, even at full price!

After a few times wearing it I think that this fragrance is as close to La nuit as 9.0 to DH! The performances are not bad either, 6-8h with moderate projection.

Zara have a few other fragrances with the "La Nuit vibe" like For Him Black Edition, Winter Collection 2017, Black Tag Intense 2017, some people say Evitorial Twist(I personally don't agree here) but Y Collection is a shameless clone, despite the notes, just ignore that.
Awesome value! Best alternative on the market, ~95% of the smell, ~12% of the price.

Here we have an affordable alternative to the over-reformulated La Nuit de L'homme. It perhaps leans a bit towards Frozen Cologne, as it is somewhat fresher. The longevity and sillage are not so bad compared to the current La Nuit version.
The Y in the name is probably a subtle hint at YSL. Because Zara has two other fragrances from this line:
A Collection (Armani Acqua di Giò clone) and D Collection. For the latter, I am not sure which fragrance it copies, but judging by the letter, it will likely be Dior, Dolce&Gabbana, or Davidoff.

Addendum: Some of you have noticed that Zara did not list cardamom as a fragrance note. How can it be that a La Nuit clone does not contain the most important La Nuit note? The answer is quite simple: fragrance notes are a guideline for customers (and partly for the perfumers themselves) and not an ingredient list, especially with clone houses like Zara. Perhaps Zara is simply being overly cautious to avoid potential copyright lawsuits. For example, Zara's Aventus clone Vibrant Leather also does not list pineapple. And yet, you can still smell it. The same goes for cardamom in Y Collection.
In the end, most perfumes are made from synthetic fragrance materials; not only the cheap clones but also many expensive designers. I am not even sure if YSL's La Nuit de L'Homme ever contained natural cardamom. I myself did not know the spice cardamom before I became interested in perfumes, and my perception of the smell of cardamom is still solely based on the top note of La Nuit de L'Homme.
"Synthetic" is one of the buzzwords that we perfume lovers repeatedly use when we criticize a fragrance. We tend to demonize and devalue the synthetic and elevate the natural, but why is that? It is just as much an art to create something from synthetic materials that can deceive our senses so much that we perceive it as natural (and more importantly: pleasant-smelling).
The only thing I cannot tolerate is when a perfume smells like plastic, nail polish remover, or any unpleasant chemicals.
However, this is not the case with either La Nuit or Y Collection.
