Winter? More like Bogoss Night

A funky smelly opening that develops into something nice within 20 minutes and keeps its subtle fresh strength for good 4 hours, then sits closer to the skin.

It's like a pineapple flavoured sweet whiskey of sorts. I have never had Big Apple Martini - a drink that is supposed to be a strong inspiration for this fragrance - so I can't tell if it's that.

While comparing them with the OG VL Bogoss and Midnight Hour (also boozy pineapple) I thought it's a cross between the two, but Midnight Hour goes into its mild section much quicker than Bogoss Winter, so it's a good trait of the newcomer. On the other hand Midnight Hour's far drydown is much more "full" and round.

VL Bogoss is much softer than its Winter counterpart. Performance is similar so I can't really recommend it for freezing winter. More like summer nights.

Pineapple without being sticky sweet

For me, the scent opens with a strong pineapple. It feels very natural and not synthetic. It's not a too sour pineapple but rather a ripe fruit. Overall, the opening feels fresh. I can faintly perceive a boozy note, a hint of cognac but not directly. The papyrus comes through particularly well over time and gives the fragrance almost a touch of Ambroxan. I also notice a slight earthy quality, which could be due to the patchouli. Over time, the scent becomes very close to the skin, yet it remains refined and in no way sweet or sticky.

I'm in the mood for something today...

... fresh for dessert. What do I have left? A pineapple, an apple, and something citrusy. OK, and there's a cognac as well. Yes, this will work. So, chop it up. Add a bit of sugar and pour the cognac over it, let it steep a little, and then enjoy.

When applying this fragrance, the first thing that hits the nose is the pineapple with a certain sweetness. The apple quickly follows, turning it into a little fruit cocktail that also takes on the alcoholic note from the cognac, and not from a cheap one. The bamboo adds a slightly green, aquatic freshness, which is emphasized by the citrus fruits. The papyrus gives this perfume a woody aspect. Leather also blends in, giving this scent a more mature touch, and the patchouli adds a slight dark, mysterious accent.

The longevity and sillage are good.

Zara has launched a men's fragrance here that I actually see as unisex. Women can also try this scent. I find it wearable from the age of 20; I can't really imagine it on younger people. There’s no upper limit. It can be worn both during the day and in the evening at the office, while shopping, at a coffee meeting, in a bar, in a club, or even at dinner.

Anyone who enjoys a sweet, fruity, slightly citrusy, fresh, alcoholic, aquatic scent with a touch of leather and dark accents will find this to be just right at a very low price.

The Bogoss Vibrant Leather Winter is a clear recommendation

It starts with pineapple and apple, with a cognac note in the background, all very sweet and boozy with a touch of freshness. Then some citrus comes in, and it goes somewhat in the direction of "Liwan / ليوان | Ard Al Zaafaran / ارض الزعفران التجارية" with a hint of Aventus that is hardly noticeable. The fruity aspect almost leans towards pear, with a bit of leather in the mix, but it’s not extremely present. If you’re expecting a summery freshie, you’re in the wrong place. Overall, I find it difficult to describe this scent; you have to test it. Perhaps a fruit compote liqueur. I think the Liwan is already great, and this goes in the same direction. For high temperatures, it will probably be too sweet. But it fits perfectly for a summer evening and will likely perform well even in cooler temperatures. It smells quite unique and simply delicious, but it might be too much for some. I think it's great, but still only a limited blind buy.
Impressive for the price. Sillage is good, longevity is also satisfactory on the skin.
Zara is getting better and better, the quality of some fragrances is increasing. However, I still have to say that the "Liwan / ليوان | Ard Al Zaafaran / ارض الزعفران التجارية" is somewhat different, but the better scent in that direction.

Alcoholized Pineapple

My first impression: An overripe pineapple. However, the cognac quickly takes over, which also lasts a long time. The apple adds a bit of fruitiness, but the cognac clearly dominates - even the next day when you spray the Bogoss on your clothes.
I like the scent; however, I'm not quite sure when I can wear it. Is it appropriate for work, or would one quickly be seen as an alcoholic? Probably more of an evening out scent ...
This has nothing to do with the original "Vibrant Leather (2018) (Eau de Parfum) | Zara." Similarity with the regular Bogoss Vibrant Leather is only found in the first few minutes.
The bottle is high-quality and classically pretty (magnetic cap).
So: More suited for the distinguished gentleman on a winter evening ...
