Not another Rose perfume

I like very much Rose as a note in perfumery but if it´s too much smells like old lady, if it is too powerful with frankincense it is hard to wear like in Les Sables Roses from LV or Lyric Man from Amouage.

In this perfume, the rose is so well mixed with the other notes that it makes me really want to wear it layered but also by itself. It does tend to me more feminine but for a man it could be very nice too.

I sprayed it on my bath robe a few days ago and it made the whole bathroom smell so nice and the silage is really great, something I cannot say about even more expensive perfumes.

If you like Rose, this perfume would become one of your favorites .. and if you think Portrait of a Lady smells too old lady like, this would also be a good alternative.

Not my vibe

I’m clearly missing something here, because I just don’t get the hype.
Tried it today at Zara, and wow -instant flashback to an air freshener I once had. It’s bold, it’s loud, and it kind of took over the whole aisle. Not terrible, but more “living room vibes” than “signature scent” for me. Not unpleasant, but definitely not something I’d want to wear on my skin..

Musky-spicy rose

Mmmmm.. a very spicy, musky rose. This one is STRONG. New York and London from Zara´s City Collection of fragrances are some of my favorites from them.

It´s not insanely unique, but that doesn´t mean it isn´t very good. It´s price and performance ratio is so good. If you love rose and you don´t mind strong fragrances, you can´t really go wrong here.

"Sandy Roses"

The "fragrance pyramid" can never be complete! I think to myself as I spray it on. There is much more to it than what is written "on top." Initially, it is slightly "synthetic," but that quickly fades away.
The first thing that hits my nose is the bright, warm freshness of citrus fruits, paired with a bit of thyme and coriander. I would call it "substantially spicy." It takes some time for the warm rose to join in, along with new spices, possibly cinnamon and saffron lurking behind. The scent has a really "strong" projection, so it's better to apply it cautiously! And it has a lot of "power" as well, meaning it is quite "niche"-noticeable.
Later, some woods join in (NO OUD!), it should be cedar and cypress, with a pinch of musk rounding it off. Still, it smells "sandy," like coarser powder or fine sand. However, I can't quite say what causes this "sandiness." I suspect it is the blending ratios of its aromatic components that leave this impression. I particularly like the bottle of this fragrance, as its simplicity appears quite elegant. Here it holds true: "Less show, but much substance," noble restraint on the outside, unexpectedly rich content. A strong, multifaceted scent, very androgynous, that requires a bit of "courage," as it is not entirely "simple" ;-))

This quote on the perfume bottle from Fashionably London can apply to both London and many fragrances.

I love London, I like some of the Jo Malone scents. I really enjoy the smell of roses on the bush. I don't really need rose in fragrances.

But when Jo Malone creates a fragrance/fragrances for Zara, I am at least curious.
So despite the ROSE as the dominant note, I gave it a try:

A young-fresh, zesty rose scent that can be too much depending on mood/weather, etc., but doesn't have to be.
It's not too sweet, not too floral, not too heavy.
It also has a fruity component for me (and it's not the bergamot).
For a Jo Malone fragrance, the longevity is very good (compared to the "original" Jo Malone scents).
If you don't like Delina, it might be better to keep your hands/nose away. I can understand that some perceive a certain similarity. It could at least pass for a family member for me.

For this price, it's definitely a successful fragrance. The price-performance ratio is very good. It doesn't smell "cheap." There are quite different candidates in this price range.

The bottle is simple but elegant - the silver plaque on the front is beautifully embedded in the glass and not just glued on.
The packaging itself also looks quite high-quality. The inner box is in a lovely old rose color! (Delina La Altrosée? ;-)
...and all of this for EUR 23,--.

I ultimately bought it (at this price!) and enjoy wearing it from time to time. In fact, especially in rainy weather or cooler weather. It brings such a cheerful, colorful, fresh-fruity-good-mood vibe under the umbrella and into the day. Just like today, where it is gloomy, cool, and rainy outside...

...and where it has obviously encouraged me to write my first review on Parfumo.
About a Zara fragrance. How about that.
Maybe it can do more than one would expect?! ;-)

Simple but nice rose scent with a slight tanginess. Occasional brief hints of musk, later joined by more woody notes.

Surprisingly good! A greenish-soapy rose, a hint of bergamot, on a lot of clean musk. Overall more of a soliflore. Lasts well!

The musk is so dominant that it overpowers all other notes. Smells very oud-like + on me like OSM. Smells very high-quality, if you like this kind of thing, give it a try.
