I am happy ;D
Today, I made a special trip quite far to test Red Temptation Elixir (and a few other newer Zarad fragrances), and then found out in the store that the tester for the Elixir had of course already been stolen... A 30 Euro blind buy? I really had to think hard about it. I only have Red Temptation in the small roller bottle because it has an undertone that seems very sweaty and masculine to me, so I will only wear it when I'm alone. On my skin, it smells somewhat bothersome... still, there is something about it (probably the BR DNA) that I - all by myself - still enjoy smelling from time to time. However, I wouldn't have repurchased it. I don't know why, but my questionable yet often quite accurate intuition told me that the Elixir would be a different story. Actually quite reckless, considering the many other reviews that I even read in advance but ignored..... ^^ When I finally got to test the Elixir, my boyfriend was still present. To spare him, I only sprayed the Elixir into the box, so basically on paper. The scent that I then perceived brought me a feeling of disappointment... It smelled almost like Red Temptation to me, but without any fruitiness and freshness... Not even close. Somewhat dusty and almost unpleasant.... However, I didn't let that deter me and waited until my boyfriend had to leave and sprayed the Elixir on my arm. You know, skin chemistry and all that. What unfolds here is just so different from the original Red Temptation. I think I smell parallels to Cloud, which I actually haven't smelled that often, so let's leave that aside for now. If I try hard, I definitely smell the praline and also a bit of coriander; everything else is so hard for me to grasp! The scent strikes me more as a whole; I have a crystal-clear association: absolutely disturbingly delicious dentist smell. I believe this sounds incomprehensible and/or repulsive to many, but I've always said that certain dental practices just have a smell that makes me addicted. I LOVE this scent and I can hardly believe that I now have something like this in a bottle and can smell it whenever I want. I find the Elixir potentially less intrusive/bothersome than Red Temptation. It may not be the perfume that best highlights my feminine side and boosts my ego, but it will definitely be my new feel-good perfume! One more thing: maybe I'm just imagining it, but I believe that I only smell dentist scent here and absolutely no plaster scent at all! The smell doesn't even disgust me on any level, not even one percent. It smells best when you hold your nose directly in it, no millimeter distance, hahaha. I haven't had something like this in a long time. I'm totally glad, the 30 Euros were worth it, and now I have dentist in a bottle. Perfect.
