Great Opening. Meh Drydown

Zara Vibrant Leather Extreme Opens with this lovely awesome prominent dark leather and supported by the citrusy notes. The dark leather and the saffron stays for a while but then as good as it comes It fades away and what remains is a fruity sweet cdnim like drydown. The drydown has similarities to Absolu Aventus but seems to lack the depth and quality because it's sugar sweet and stays linear like that for quite long. The longetivity is good and is significantly longer than a lot of Vibrant Leather including the New Bogoss Vibrant Leather Extreme. Longetivity similar to the Explosion. Also this Vibrant Leather Extreme also seems to have a hint of the amberwoods that we get from the usual Br540 in red temptation, a slight bit with the sugary Drydown, it makes the drydown kinda boring and nothing too special. I'm rather disappointed with the drydown after such a nice opening.

Zara Vibrant Leather Extreme First Impressions

I wanted to try this in-store, but unfortunately, there was no tester available (Zara – Optimum Mall, Adana TR). So I went for a blind buy :) Fragrantica mentioned it resembles Paco Rabanne Black XS, and since my bottle of Black XS is almost empty, I thought this might be a good alternative.

But let me be clear:

Vibrant Leather Extreme has absolutely nothing in common with Black XS!

The opening reminds me a lot of Aventus Absolu sharp citrus notes and a smoky leathery accord. Honestly, it smells like burnt leather or even the skin of a reptile (if that makes sense). That citrusy-smoky vibe stays present throughout the wear.

I’ve just started testing it, so I’ll hold off on judging its synthetic feel for now and update later.

As for the BR540 comparison mentioned on Fragrantica I didn’t pick up any similarity. I also couldn’t detect any suede notes, which were supposedly part of the composition.

That’s all for now. I’ll update later with info on performance and longevity.

Maybe it's because of its batch

Mine is manufactured in May, 2025.
The opening immediately reminds me of Armaf Club De Nuit Intense Men, but with lesser citrusy notes and a weaker leather note.
The leather note with the woody notes would dominate the whole sensory experience.
It feels like a Zara's take on CDNIM, but even if it's given the name of Extreme, it's EDP form just can't beat the EDT form of the former, and it lost the good lemon and bamboo scent in the OG.
So maybe it is because of my nose, but if you do find the package of notes enjoyable and long lasting then probably you can give it a try. If you agree with me, then you'd either pick up/stay with the CDNIM, or just wait for a discount.

Zara blah blah vs creed aventus

Starts fruity, but not quite as citrusy as the creed. You immediately notice a better quality than with other dupes, but also a difference. However, it doesn't really know where to go for the first few minutes. But after about 15 minutes it catches on.
It smells more grown-up, darker and more seductive. After the top note, minimal saffron and perhaps even a hint of rose join a
now rather berry and sweet type of Aventus DNA. It then remains more or less stable in this way. Those who like aventus DNA will probably enjoy this one too. It's similar but like enough removed to be standalone. Would classify it more as evening or night. For a wicked date, possibly with a wild evening, this is just the right fragrance. Not recommended for the height of summer. Joar, can be something, like the last times positively surprised by zara. It's not the most complex fragrance in the world, with the most blatant progression. But as is usually the case with Jerome epinette, it's perfectly balanced. The longer I have it and the more often I wear it, the more I like it. And for 22€100ml, the p/L is already great cinema.

first of all, get a good skinning.....

I ordered the fragrance blindly.
Aventus clone with an independent note... Whats not to like?
Unfortunately a lot!

In the first 3 minutes, I can still recognize Aventus DNA with a little benevolence. The sweet fruitiness still shines through.
But as soon as the fragrance has subsided, sugary leather remains.
I just don't see the adjectives "smoky" or even "dark".
For me, this fragrance is more of a clone of Arabi Cana by Kolmaz.
The leather dominates and so you have to give the fragrance credit for living up to its name for the first time...

The bottle is simple and beautiful.
And has a magnetic closure.... I love magnetic closures....
It doesn't "flit" as nicely as the Sauvage one, but still.

Too bad...

In the end, I have to say that I like it best when I sniff the lid... ...at least then I can let it flit.
