250 € cotton candy
I know that Acqua e Zucchero is widely regarded as a high end Pink Sugar dupe, so I was not surprised that they smell really similar. I was a bit surprised how simple and sweet this really is though, which in hindsight isn't that shocking either. No Profvmvm Roma fragrance I have tried so far was very complex, they all get straight to the point and this is no exception.

So, this is a fruity, vanilla-based cotton candy scent. I smell red berries and a hint of a fizzy, lemony citrus note, but not much orange blossom. The scent doesn't have the polarizing licorice note that Pink Sugar has, but it does have a bit of a cough-syrup vibe and a slightly burnt undertone. Just like cotton candy that has been in the machine for a moment too long.

As a gourmand fan, I do like it, but I don't understand why anyone would pay so much for it. Yes, it's a better alternative for Pink Sugar if you want something fresher and a little less cloying, but there are soo many fragrances in this genre in all price categories that I don't see the unique selling point here. Even the great performance can be had at a cheaper price point.

Despite being listed as unisex, I find this just as girly as Pink Sugar, Al-Rehab Soft and the likes. Everyone should wear what they like, and I honestly prefer men who smell like candy over men who smell like screechy blue shower gel, but this kind of scent will always read more feminine to me.

I want my life to be like this perfume smells
The other day I was looking for an elegant scent with strawberries, which is very unlike me. The strawberries I mean. Because to me, this reads as girly, cheap, and deodorant-like.

They didn't have a real strawberry fragrance but what I encountered instead is this scent. I was immediately in love. They didn't have it in stock and today it finally arrived :D

For me, it evokes pure joy and excitement. As if I'm sitting on a chain carousel and while flying through the air different notes hit my nose and become a delicious yummy pink-golden blur.

First I'm hit with orange blossoms and a very deep sugary note: tonka bean/caramel? It's as if someone forgot their sugar in a pan and it's already starting to develop a bit of fume.
Then there's a whiff of strawberry syrup.
The other day, we had champagne and sugared strawberries for brunch. Because I was still craving that strawberry note. I ladled the remaining juice into the Champagne glasses when the strawberries were gone. That's the note I'm getting sauf the Champagne.

So far the fragrance could be quite sticky and sugary. But there is a high note, that floats atop the base like an overtone. It's not there to be acknowledged but to brighten everything.
This fresh sour accord is owed to lemon blossom and possibly also lemon zest.

The vanilla that's wafting over has a hint of creaminess to it. And then the forest berries become more pronounced.
Like candied fruit. But also very authentically smelling of forest berries and a bit of woodiness. I'm getting wild strawberries and bramble berries; also the leaves of bramble berries, and maybe even a hint of sandalwood.

As the swirling of notes quietens down a bit, there's a lovely scent of rose. But there's no pinkness to it more of an apricot. It reminds me of those David Austin roses. And it's already withered and slightly decayed with notes of hay and peach. You know when you stretch out your hand to touch it or bring it closer to your nose the petals just fall into your hand soft like the finest suede leaving you with the inflorescence.

At the end of my ride, I'm getting a breeze of Cointreau and a bit of almond liqueur.
Maybe this mixed with the caramel smoke is what hits people's noses as plasticky?
Not to me though. There's nothing sharp. It's all so beautifully blended with the lemony glint to lend it freshness.
Throughout this merry-go-round spinning, the orange blossom never loses its radiance. What started as a dark red and amber-coloured elixir ends in a warm, pink and golden swirl with the softest cloudlets of magenta.

I want my life to be like this perfume smells:

Joyful, exciting, comforting, sweet with a bit of darkness - a wistfulness.
And filled with golden sunshine!

Ceaselessly sweet powdered sugar with a touch of tangy and bitter berries.
The name says it all here. Its very straightforwardly sugary. Despite its simplicity, it doesn't smell cheap or overly synthetic. The tartness of the berries (strawberry, blueberry, raspberry) temper the airy sugar, but the berries never overtake the composition.

Comparisons to Xerjoff Symphonium are immediately evident to me. There is a very distinctive sweetness that is present in both. Xerjoff goes deeper into a chocolate, orange, oud, and musk direction, however. This makes Symphonium more unisex leaning, while Acqua e Zucchero is brighter, airier, and more feminine leaning.

While fun to wear for a bit, I found this overbearingly sweet and linear. Throughout its lifetime, it smells almost the same. Being surrounded by a cloud of sugar is simply too much for me.

Gourmands just aren't my thing
This smells very pretty, and I do like to wear a little bit of it in certain occasions, but it's not something I'd ever reach for on a daily basis. For me, the different notes don't separate especially well, but they blend together beautifully into a very soft, sweet scent, like I've been eating strawberries & sugar while sitting under trees in full blossom. Absolutely must be paired with sunshine and cute-casual sartorial choices--this would be cloying in an office setting.

Synthetic quality
This starts off fruity synthetic bubblegum-like and dries down into some sugary sweet synthetic cedar wood + creamy sandalwood. Can't tell much because I think this is very linear and low dimensional. I get some synthetic notes which is somewhat bothering, in the same direction as Encre Noire Eau de Toilette. I think this is unisex not exactly masculine or feminine (despite other people say) I honestly think there are better quality scents at that price range

Very sweet and fruity, which would be nice without the powdery notes. Reminds me of a dirty gas station bathroom that's just been "cleaned"

High-end public toilet, very clean. Someone is wearing Pink Sugar. The sillage is everywhere, you can almost taste it. Not my vibe. Pricey.

It’s semi-sweet scent. Smooth, cozy vanilla with acidic notes of forest fruits. The fragrance is really joyful and longevity is enormous!

A warm and creamy/sweet, rather linear floral-fruity Gourmand, balanced by an uplifting and bitter/sweet, citric-floral opening. Feminine.
